This we're celebrating Emma our director who almost 10 years ago took a chance at creating her own baby classes from scratch. She was a teacher with a passion for education, but after the birth of her first child Zephyr she found navigating the return to inflexible working something she didn't want to have to fight with and Adventure Babies was born. Created in Manchester and then spreading to Somerset Adventure Babies is now in 23 locations nationwide!
Each Adventure Babies Class Leader is a self employed superhuman bringing you amazing Adventures week in week out and it's all thanks to Emma. So here's to you Emma - thanks for having us! ❤️

Messy play is a great way for children and toddlers to express themselves emotionally and creatively. Messy play activities stimulate all of a child’s senses while teaching them about concepts like gravity and the behaviours of liquid and solid objects.

It can help develop children’s cognitive development, social skills and their communication. And it’s super fun too!
This is just one great example of why messy play is so important for your little one.

Every Adventure Babies class encompasses a messy activity which you and your child can explore as much or as little as you like.

Eurovision coming to Liverpool 🥳

So, what's the big deal about Tummy Time?

Placing a baby on their stomach while awake and supervised — can help your baby develop strong neck and shoulder muscles and promote motor skills. Tummy time can also prevent the back of your baby's head from developing flat spots.

It is notoriously tricky to practice as most babies find it tricky so they don't really enjoy practicing it!

During our sensory storytelling classes, we build in lots of activities specifically designed to strengthen your baby's core giving them variety in their tummy time practice, making it easier and more fun for everybody!

Every day is a new adventure with a baby growing up quickly!

Ours didn’t want to play with the purpose-built toys but gravitated towards anything else…. Real car keys were a big yes, but toy ones were a no! I think that is why so many of the sensory areas at Adventure Babies are such a big hit, because they are designed to invite interaction and exploration!

Why do mums lose their identity?

It's so easy to lose sight of yourself when you become a new mum. You are understandably focused on your new baby, with a flood of hormones surging around your body, and a lot of sleepless nights thrown into the mix to top it off! It's no surprise to find that you let go of interests and hobbies that you enjoyed before becoming a mum.
It is so important to keep doing these things when you are a new mum no matter how unnecessary they seem.

Find new ways to connect with friends....

Work hard to find a new hobby or interest that fits around your life now. We would love to hear what you have taken up since becoming a mum!

Carve out time for an old hobby or interest, even if it is only once a month to start with.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help, you could do this as a trade with another mum, or go to a playgroup with helpers, or hire a babysitter or nanny if this is possible for you.
