It was an honour to have so many guests from the university and other institutions, such as the Institut Ramon Llull, the Instituto Cervantes, the Spanish Consulate, other universities in the UK and Ireland, and even Sweden, as well as the Lord Mayor of Liverpool; but also guests who live in the UK but have links with Catalan and Catalonia.

The film Mamรญfera was one of the great revelations of Catalan/Spanish cinema in 2024, featuring outstanding performances by Maria Rodrรญguez Soto and Enric Auquer, two of the most highly regarded actors of recent years.
Shot in Catalan language, the film explores the concept of motherhood. The protagonist, Lola, enjoys a happy life with her partner, Bruno, until an unexpected pregnancy turns her world upside down.
