Julie Tyler joins us as our Art and Design lead that we are very much looking forward to.

Julie originally trained as a Scientific Illustrator and worked as a commercial artist before becoming an art teacher.
She has 30 years experience of teaching in Secondary schools throughout Yorkshire, was head of department in a multi Racial school in Batley for 12 years before specialising in BESD education in Barnsley.

Julie has been involved in various art networking projects including “Raising boys achievements through art”.
She has always remained a practicing artist and has designed for various community projects including ”The Huskar Pit memorial Window”.
Now semi retired Julie is on a quest to live creatively.

Julie's session is all about how to remain an artist.

Donna Harris is our Science specialist for the ALPSIT Subject Leader Conference tomorrow Donna Harris is currently the Primaries Science Lead across a multi-academy trust in the North West. She combines this with her role as a STEM Learning senior facilitator.

Donna is a science specialist who is passionate about all primary children developing their curiosity and enthusiasm for science through an inspiring and well taught curriculum. As an experienced consultant, Donna has provided support to many primary teachers and science leaders across the North West, enabling them to develop and confidently deliver their science curriculum and enhance pupil engagement with science.

Sabiha Munshi is joining us as our computing specialist as part of our Subject Leader Confernece she is a primary NCCE Subject Matter Expert and works in schools across the North West of England and an Education Training Consultant for TT Education. She was also STEM Lead in previous school role and has recently finished authoring a set of computing workbooks for the primary curriculum, due to be published in 2022.

We cant wait to hear the wisdom she has on teaching computing in primary school!

Our Geography specialist for our Subject Leader conference is Alan Parkinson

Alan is currently Head of Geography at King's Ely Junior in Cambridgeshire, where he oversees curriculum development for KS2 and 3 and coordinates two ERASMUS+ projects the school is involved in. He has taught for almost thirty years in a range of schools. Alan has written and edited numerous textbooks and children's books, along with the recent 'Why Study Geography?'.
Alan previously worked for the Geographical Association as Secondary Curriculum Development Leader.
Alan is a Chartered Geographer and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and has won numerous awards for his writing, innovative teaching, and support of other colleagues. These include the RSGS Joy Tivy Education Medal in 2013 - fellow recipients include Sir. Ken Robinson.
Along with Daniel Raven Ellison he was the co-founder of Mission:Explore. He is a Primary Geography Champion and Consultant to the GA. He writes many blogs including LivingGeography and tweets &
He is the President of the Geographical Association for 2021-2.

Alan will be speaking to us about Exploring our Pale Blue Dot.
Alan will explore some ideas for enhancing existing curriculum thinking, drawing on the work of experts in Primary geography.
