๐Ÿ‘‰ Our Level 2 Hairdressing students visited Ronald McDonald House in Alder Hey Children's Hospital on 2nd March to cut and style the hair of families of children receiving hospital care.

๐Ÿ‘‰ This is a great example of how young people can use their skills and knowledge to support the wellbeing of local families and give something back to their community.

Well done girls!!!!!

๐Ÿ‘‰Three of our Level 1 ICT students took time out of their half-term to visit The Brain Charity and take part in a creative session to explore 3D printing.

๐Ÿ‘‰The session was co-delivered by the amazing Steam Engineers and our learners got the chance to design and create their own 3D models.

๐Ÿ‘‰Laura from the Brain Charity sent us a lovely e-mail to say:

"They were really engaged, interested and basically brilliant at using the software and creating their designs. They were a joy to have in the center and we'll be in touch to arrange them being able to pick up their makes as soon as they are ready."

๐Ÿ™A massive thank you to the Steam Engineers and to the Brain Charity for running such a fab event!

๐ŸคฉYes, We See You!

๐Ÿ‘‰6 of our foundation students are attending Liverpool John Moore's University to take part in vocational tasters where they can explore the worlds of creative media, art and policing.

๐Ÿ‘‰Last week, our learners got to try their hand at broadcasting, sound engineering and camera work.

๐Ÿ‘‰As part of LJMU's committment to equality, diversity and inclusion, this programme is aimed at "adults with learning difficulties and disabilities (LD) who face persistent barriers to higher education, from inaccessible teaching to low expectations and stigma. Yes, we see you! was created at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) to challenge these barriers and offer young adults a genuine experience of university life."

๐Ÿ‘‰Celebrating

๐Ÿ‘‰We were delighted to welcome guest speaker Claire from the Liverpool School Sports Partnership on Wednesday to bust myths, raise awareness and inspire our learners to consider Amazing Apprenticeships as their next best step.

๐Ÿ‘‰The turnout was fantastic with over 50 Level 1 and Level 2 learners attending and they all got involved in an interactive quiz and talked confidently about key skills for lifelong learning and work.

๐Ÿ‘‰Following on from this, learners will be able discuss apprenticeship opportunities in person at our Next Steps career event on 4th March with Access Industry and LSSP.
