Our Level 2 hairdressing apprentices have been supporting the community by visiting local care home this week 💇🏼‍♀️

This opportunity has allowed them to be assessed within their qualification and enable further progression.

So proud of our students and their professionalism 👏 ❤️

Celebrating the male role models at Mode on International Mens Day! 💙

2 of our curriculum leads are both male. Wesley is the lead for Music and we also have Michael as our lead in Hairdressing.

Alongside Wesley and Michael, we have hairdressing tutor Alan and our music tutors Les, Rob, Mike, Lewis and Dom.

We are so proud and lucky to have every one of these talented, inspirational, hard working individuals. Their commitment, productivity, teamwork, senses of humour, contributions and work ethic in general at Mode could not be any better and without them our amazing team would not be complete. We’re so grateful that it is not just one day, it’s every day we can rely on all of you with everything you do here! 💯

We realise the importance of helping our male role models within the workplace by assisting them both inside and outside of the workplace, supporting their mental health and addressing their needs to allow them to have a healthy work life balance.

Today is National Stress Awareness Day 🧠 💭

Stress Awareness Day is an opportunity to think about the effects of stress, physically and mentally, as well as how we can manage feelings of stress.

Millions around the UK experience stress and it is damaging to our health and wellbeing. For example, at some point in the last year, 74% of us have felt so stressed that we have felt unable to cope (Mental Health Foundation).

We know what it is like to feel stressed, however it is a normal part of life.

Stress is the feeling of being under too much mental or emotional pressure. There are many reasons we can feel stressed, whether it’s deadlines for work, change in our relationships or pressures we may be putting on ourselves.

Sometimes stress can be useful. It can motivate us to sort things out or get something done, but too much stress can become overwhelming and lead to mental health problems or make existing problems worse. Therefore it is important to have the ability to identify signs you are stressed, manage these feelings and look after yourself.

Movember, the month formerly known as November, is when brave and selfless men around the world grow a moustache, and women step up to support them, all to raise awareness and funds for men's health.

During Movember, men grow a moustache for the month, getting friends, family and colleagues to donate to their effort. Men and women can also chose to Move or Host a Mo-ment. They want men to take action to live happier, healthier, longer lives and do this by investing in these critical areas: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and su***de prevention.

Movember has created a movement of over 5 million supporters across the world, funding more than 1,200 innovative men's health projects across more than 20 countries.

National Bullying Prevention Month in October reminds us of the harm bullying does. It’s always important to talk about the dangers of bullying and the trauma it can bring to its victims 💔

Research shows that bullying often leaves lasting negative effects on those who deal with it. These effects include chronic depression, increased risk of suicidal thoughts, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, poor general health, self-harm, substance abuse, and difficulty establishing trusting, reciprocal friendships and relationships.

By speaking out, spreading kindness, and finding your other roles in bullying prevention, you are making school settings, workplaces, and other environments safer and happier places 💛

We must send a message that bullying will not be tolerated in our communities ❌

Here are some great steps you can take to help stop bullying:

- Learn more about the issue. The more informed and better educated you are, the better you can make an impact.

- Practice what you preach. Children mock what they see, so be a good role model for the little ones around you.

- Talk to your kids. Ask them about experiences at school, and make sure they feel comfortable and know they can always come to you if something happens.

- Monitor what your child does online. Right now, cyberbullying is the fastest-growing type of harassment amongst young people.

In an ever-changing digital world, it is important learners have the skills to promote themselves effectively online. Effective online promotion increases traffic to social media channels, which in turn promotes sales and secures gigs.

The course is aimed at creatives in the music industry, engaging learners through their love of music. Having a strong social media presence and followers is key to both music sales and events learners may be performing at. In fact, proactive venues are keen to secure performers who have a strong social media following.

Eligibility
- Must have reached age 19 by 31st August 2022
- Reside in Liverpool City Region
- Right to work in the UK/ have National Insurance number
- Must not have attended a Skills bootcamp before
- Must not be registered on any other training such as an Apprenticeship or Higher Education
- Must be committed to improving Digital marketing skills
