Our pets can’t tell us when they are overwhelmed, but their actions speak volumes.

From destructive chewing and excessive barking in dogs to hidden spraying or vertical scratching in cats, stress frequently manifests as disruptive behaviour. Too often, these issues strain the human-animal bond and lead to frustration for pet parents and veterinary professionals alike.

The Zen Effect: Managing Stress-Related Behaviours in Cats and Dogs Through Pheromonatherapy explores:

✨ How stress can manifest through behaviour
🧠 The science behind pheromonatherapy
🐱🐶 Choosing the right pheromone products and delivery methods
🌿 How to create a calmer environment for pets
💡 Practical strategies to support a holistic behavioural plan

Did you miss the live session earlier this month with Professor Daniel Mills and Oliver Painter? It is now available to watch on demand on our website!

How can we optimise long-term NSAID therapy while keeping GI health front of mind? 🐾

NSAIDs are a cornerstone of osteoarthritis management, but ongoing treatment also means considering the potential impact on gastrointestinal health.

This blog from Carus Animal Health explores the role of GI monitoring, including how faecal calprotectin can help provide an early, non-invasive insight into GI inflammation in dogs receiving long-term NSAID therapy.

🔎 Discover the latest research, explore the role of GIQuest, and find out how proactive GI monitoring could support clinical decision-making.

You'll leave with practical tips, simple take-home messages, and greater confidence in diagnosing and managing corneal ulcers and dry eye in practice.

📅 Going live: 2nd September 2026, 12:30pm BST

We asked our veterinary community what they really want from their CPD… and you gave us plenty to think about. 👀

Here are just a few of the things you told us in our 2026 Annual Community Survey:

🎥 77% said they’d prefer on-demand learning for their future CPD.

📚 68% selected courses as one of their preferred ways to learn, showing there’s still plenty of love for a good course!

🐾 44% said they’d like more case-based learning, with practical and clinical case topics coming out on top.

👩‍⚕️ More than 9 in 10 responses came from clinical professionals, with 69% vets and 23% vet nurses/technicians.

And you told us you’d like to see more content across areas including Small Animal, Exotics & Wildlife, Surgery & Emergency, Behaviour, Nursing and Practice Management.

This feedback genuinely helps shape what we do next. We want to make sure the learning we provide is useful, relevant and works for the realities of life in the veterinary profession.

So, a huge thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our survey. 💚

We hear you, and we’re already thinking about how we can put your feedback into action.

Not Just a Conference, A Community 🤝🎙️Listen now!

This episode of VETchat by The Webinar Vet is in collaboration with BCVA and hosted by Zoe Shepherd, BCVA Board Member.

Joining Zoe are David Black, BCVA President, and Paul Burr, BCVA Junior Vice President. This episode looks ahead to BCVA Congress 2026 and why it remains one of the standout events in the cattle and wider farm veterinary calendar.

Zoe, David, and Paul talk through the programme, practical workshops, social events, and sense of community that makes BCVA Congress more than just a CPD meeting.

They also reflect on their first Congress memories, the value of face-to-face networking, and why Telford International Centre gives the event room to grow.

They cover the key scientific themes for 2026, including TB control, the ruminant antibiotic roadmap, and artificial intelligence in farm practice.
