Saturday was butterfly education and awareness day so we have spent this week learning about butterflies and their life cycle and by incorporating cause and effect learning we created our own butterflies.

After a fantastic settling in week we would like to welcome our 2 new friends and our new assistant. We can't wait for you to all join in with the fun.

For world bee day we used our creative skills to make a picture of a hive, we used our imaginative skills and flew little bees around the room and we used early literacy skills to read books about bees. 🐝

This morning we enjoyed reading together and colouring at one of our local libraries.

One of our little ones told us that he has tortoises and likes to collect dandelions as a treat for them. Yesterday we collected some and he enjoyed taking them home and sharing a picture with us 🐢

For Saint Patrick's day we looked at Irelands national flower/plant. The shamrock ☘️
We collaged one in it's traditional green colour and coloured another one in all the colours of the rainbow to represent the Irish folklore, where leprechauns are said to hide their pots of gold at the unreachable end of a rainbow.

For St David's day we enjoyed doing a realism painting of daffodils, the national flower of Wales, and having rarebit and welsh cakes for lunch. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Yesterday, for Chinese New Year which was Sunday, we enjoyed making lucky horseshoe pictures to celebrate Year of the horse. We also enjoyed looking at traditional Chinese decorations, tasting traditional food and watching the celebrations of the lion and dragon dances. 🐉🐲

Over the past week we have enjoyed making Valentines cards for our loved ones, making mini pizzas for National pizza day and making pancakes for pancake day ❤️🍕 🥞
