85 years ago today, the began.

Today we honour the courage and sacrifice of Greek 🇬🇷, British 🇬🇧 and ANZAC 🇦🇺🇳🇿 troops, and the Cretan civilians who stood together in defence of Crete.

19 Μαΐου – Ημέρα Μνήμης για τη Γενοκτονία των Ελλήνων του Πόντου

Δεν ξεχνάμε. Τιμούμε τις 353.000 ψυχές, θύματα της επεκτατικής πολιτικής της Τουρκίας.

Ο Πόντος δεν είναι μόνο ιστορία. Είναι φλόγα συνείδησης, μνήμης και αντίστασης.

Η Κύπρος, που μετρά μισό αιώνα από την τουρκική εισβολή και συνεχιζόμενης κατοχής, στέκεται στο πλευρό των Ποντίων αδελφών της. Γιατί γνωρίζει βαθιά τι σημαίνει βίαιος ξεριζωμός, απώλεια, κατοχή.

Η μνήμη γίνεται ευθύνη. Η ευθύνη γίνεται φωνή. Και η φωνή απαιτεί αναγνώριση, δικαίωση, διεθνή αφύπνιση.
Γιατί ό,τι δεν αναγνωρίζεται, επαναλαμβάνεται. Και ό,τι δεν διδάσκεται, ξεχνιέται.

Η γενοκτονία των Ποντίων αναγνωρίζεται, τιμάται και διδάσκεται.

Για να γνωρίζουν οι νέες γενιές. Για να μην επιστρέψει ποτέ ξανά το σκοτάδι.
