Congratulations to all our students who competed in Penrith today at the 49th Cumbria Open.

As always, the standard of competition was extremely high, with strong performances from competitors from across the UK.

🥋🚨 Breaking News – Shodan Success! 🚨🥋

Today we had the incredible honour of attending a fantastic JKS England course in Long Eaton, led by Matt Price 7th Dan JKS. It was a truly outstanding day of training, full of knowledge, spirit, and high-level karate.

We are incredibly proud to announce that, following the course, Sofia Worthington-Murphy and Leo Cryle successfully passed their Shodan Black Belt grading under Alan Campbell, Chief Instructor of JKS England.

Achieving Shodan is a major milestone in any karateka’s journey and marks an important step forward in their development within traditional karate. It represents the beginning of a new chapter and is a moment to be truly proud of.

A huge congratulations to you both on this amazing achievement, we are all incredibly proud of you!

🥋 Huge Congratulations to Ian Stopforth! 🥋

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Ian has successfully passed his 6th Dan JKS crossover grading under the guidance of Kanayama Sensei in Long Eaton.

Alongside the grading, there was also an intense three-hour course led by Kanayama Sensei, making the day an incredible opportunity for learning, development, and high-level training.

This was a prestigious grading panel, with Kanayama Sensei joined by JKS England Chief Instructor Alan Campbell Sensei and JKS England Squad member Matt Price Sensei, adding even more significance to this achievement.

Ian’s dedication to his karate journey is second to none. He works tirelessly to improve, constantly refining his technique and deepening his understanding of the art. His commitment and relentless pursuit of excellence is truly inspiring, and his dedication to karate is an inspiration to us all at Malvern.

A phenomenal and well-deserved achievement, congratulations Ian! 👏🥋
