We are seeking to appoint an Office Administrator & General Assistant and a Senior Nursery Practitioner to provide maternity cover at our busy Bright Sparks & Early Years Nursery.

WE ARE HIRING! ✨

St. Mary’s College Bright Sparks and Early Years Nursery is an outstanding early years setting with an excellent reputation locally.

We seek to appoint a Senior Nursery Practitioner (Maternity cover).

The role is full-time, all year round Senior Nursery Practitioner, based in the Tots Department (2-3 Years) - 37 hours per week.

⏰ Monday – Friday Inclusive
⏰ 7.00am – 6.00pm on a rota basis

This role is perfect if you:
🩵 Have a strong understanding of EYFS & child development
🩵 Have excellent communication & interpersonal skills
🩵 Are organised, proactive & have a flexible approach
🩵 Have NVQ Level 3 in Childcare (or equivalent)

Kindergarten and PreSchool children have enjoyed clowning around this week as they learn all about clowns! 🤡

From dressing up in big clothes and colourful hair to walking the tightrope and practising their juggling skills, the children have embraced every challenge while developing their balance, co-ordination, fine motor skills and agility.

Well done to all the children for showing great determination in each activity and impressing us with their skills!

The children and team gathered to give our much-loved practitioner, Paula, a fond farewell as she begins a new chapter in her career. There were speeches, gifts and plenty of big bear hugs as we thanked Paula for everything she has done for Bright Sparks, our children and the wider team over the years. ✨

Our Head of Bright Sparks and Early Years, Mrs Haigh, has a few lovely words to share as she wishes Paula well:

“Paula has been a loyal, dedicated and highly valued nursery practitioner for 24 years here at Bright Sparks. Her commitment to St. Mary’s has made a huge impact on the children, their families and her colleagues. While I am sorry to lose her from the nursery team, I am incredibly proud of her for pursuing a new adventure at the College, where she will be working as a learning support for older children.

The big question is… is the College ready for her super sense of humour?!”

Our School Uniform Shop is taking a short break! 👔

The shop will be closed next week, but Wendy and Lynn will be ready to welcome you back on Tuesday 11th August.

From 11th August, the shop will be open every Tuesday (9.00am–4.30pm) and Thursday (11.30am–5.30pm), with appointments also available on Tuesdays throughout August.

The children have been busy updating our vegetable patch with some fresh new pumpkin plants! 🌱

Working as a team, they have been carefully weeding the garden beds and planting already-sprouted pumpkin seeds, which will hopefully grow into beautiful pumpkins just in time for Halloween.

The children have enjoyed getting hands-on in the garden and learning how to care of the plants and help them grow. We can't wait to see the results!

All of the children have settled wonderfully into their new temporary surroundings this week while our main nursery building undergoes IT improvement works over the next few weeks.

They've embraced the change with big smiles, making the most of the spacious College Sports Hall and Library, while some groups continue to enjoy activities in parts of the main nursery.

Despite the temporary move, there's been no shortage of fun! The children have continued to enjoy time outdoors in the playground, helping to keep their daily routines familiar and enjoyable.

We're so proud of how adaptable, resilient and enthusiastic our little learners have been throughout the transition! 🩵

Thanks to our amazing staff team for adapting so well and helping our little ones settle in so quickly!

¡Enhorabuena! Congratulations to our Preschool children, who graduated from BilinguaSing Liverpool with a fun-filled fiesta! 🇪🇸💃

The children enjoyed a Spanish summer-themed party with Karine, packed with songs, dancing, and games as they recapped and learned even more Spanish words and phrases.

The celebrations ended with plenty of smiles as each child proudly received their BilinguaSing Leaver Award certificate, recognising their fantastic achievements and the wonderful time they've had with BilinguaSing.

Thank you so much to Karine for a fantastic year of BilinguaSing, and well done to all of our Preschool children on graduating!

The children celebrated in style at their End of Year Party last week! 🪩✨

The afternoon was filled with classic party games, from Pass the Parcel to Musical Statues, and so much fun in between.

A huge thank you to our incredible staff for their enthusiasm and participation. Whether they were braving the foam machine or being chased around the hall by enthusiastic children armed with balloon swords, they helped create an unforgettable afternoon filled with smiles and laughter.

And, of course, a very special thank you to DJ Steve and Chris for putting on a fantastic party full of entertainment, party games and, above all, fun. As always, you helped make it a truly memorable celebration!
