💙 60 years of friendship! 🌍

In 1966, this fantastic group of Old Blues joined Blue Coat School. 60 years later, they returned to school to celebrate their friendship, reminisce about their school days and see how the school has changed. 🏫✨

Since leaving Blue Coat, they have certainly travelled the world! 🌎 Between them, they have lived in countries including the USA, Barbados, Spain, China, Slovenia, Dubai, Hong Kong, Tanzania, Bahrain and Malaysia, to name just a few.

Their careers have been just as varied, spanning Education, Law, Publishing, Telecommunications, Football Coaching & Management, Business Consultancy, the Diocese of Liverpool, Construction and Chartered Quantity Surveying. 👏

What an incredible collection of experiences and stories — and a wonderful reminder that the friendships made at school can last a lifetime. 💙

We hope our current Y7 pupils will be able to look back in 60 years' time and share their own incredible adventures, memories and stories at their reunion! 🎓🌟

💙Old Blue, Adrian Donkersley, Class of '73 joined both the Golf Day and the Open Day at the weekend. He brought photos of his sports teams to share, and very kindly donated the football pennant he was awarded for captaining the Merseyside schools football team in the exchange visit to Cologne in 1972 for our archives.

It will be a school tour, refreshments, and the chance to meet and network with female students from across the decades, hosted by Old Blue and Foundation Trustee, Helen Brown.

💙Sorry to share the sad news that Old Blue Keith Ashley (BCS 1963-1971) died recently at his home in Childwall.

He was a very committed Old Blue, having played with the Old Blues football team for many years, and serving as treasurer for the Brotherly Society for even more years.

Although now retired, he was a teacher for his whole career (ceramics then CDT) - starting at Notre Dame (now St Julie’s) in Woolton, then for several decades at West Derby Comprehensive.

Our thoughts are with his family.
