Unite’s mission is to organise people to strive for a society that places equality, dignity and respect above all else. Scrap Universal Credit. Say no to holiday hunger. Tomorrow, Thursday 1st August. 11.30-1.30, Williamson Square. Come and join us in our demonstration to remind the government that Universal Credit is not working, has never worked, nor will it ever work.
We will be joined by Fans Supporting Foodbanks, Liverpool Labour and members of Riverside CLP. If you are passing through town then please come and say hello. If you can afford to drop something off for the foodbank then that would be great but, the most important thing is that you come along and show your support.

From Steve Murphy -

The NW 538 Kirkby Unite Branch are now going ahead with the showing of "I Daniel Blake" Thursday 7th December Centre 63 Kirkby 7pm lights out. Entrance fee, just bring a bag of food "if you can afford it" there will be free food on the night, Centre 63's special Scouse, plus Pea & Ham soup and a veggie option. Tea & Coffee will also be available. Come and see one of Ken Loach's most evocative films in recent years, "bring plenty of hankies" or for most of us a packet of tissues from the towny. Don't miss this opportunity to one of the top films of 2016. We intend to screen more films next year that depict the true social deprivation of living life under the Tory's whether it be the Thatcher Government or the present one......

Great response from the public in Liverpool to our national day of action calling on the Tory government to stop the roll out of Universal Credit. It is not working and needs fixing or scrapping, not further rolling out to hurt and demoralise more people.
