So a few years back one of my very close friends told me that she wanted to quit her job at a restaurant and work in a school instead because she loved teaching and missed being in a school environment, the problem was that her math was holding her back, no matter how hard she tried to grasp the subject she told me she felt like an imposter and that she felt lost in all of the numbers and concepts.

So I told her that even mathematicians feel this at times and reintroduced her to the subject in a more fun and easy to understand way, first helping her to master the easier concepts and then the more difficult ones in turn.

I WAS ACTUALLY SHOCKED AT THE RESULT!

She actually passed her exams with flying colours.
I felt extremely proud! It was only a few months later that another friend had told me that he wanted to go into accounting but that he got a D for his GCSE math, GREAT I thought, another opportunity for me to teach math! AGAIN, he got a grade C, just what he needed to get into accountancy.

It was after this that I realized how much people are in need of maths skills and how this often misunderstood subject is holding them back from their dreams, I realized how much I enjoyed teaching people math and helping them to realize their dreams.
