ICYMI: Last night, BBC’s The One Show featured fascinating research led by Dr Ollie Padget and Matilda Sibeth from the University of Liverpool’s School of Environmental Sciences.

The project is tracking and monitoring the behaviour of the mysterious and elusive nightjar in Dorset, helping researchers better understand this remarkable species. 🦉🌿

A Hollywood ending for Jodie Foster – with a little help from our experts. 🐍💙

Cancer specialists from the University of Liverpool have worked alongside Chester Zoo's veterinary team to deliver what is believed to be the world’s first use of electrochemotherapy in a snake.

When a tumour began destroying part of Jodie’s jawbone, our experts helped adapt the pioneering cancer treatment, which is more commonly used in humans, for use in a snake.

Months later, the 15-foot python is cancer-free, eating normally and back to her usual bright and feisty self.

A fantastic example of what can happen when experts come together to find new ways to treat cancer – across species. A huge congratulations to everyone involved. 👏

Step inside St Brigid's Arms from 3 October at the University of Liverpool's Victoria Gallery and Museum 🍀

This powerful new exhibition transforms the gallery into a fictional Irish pub and family home, bringing to life the untold stories of women of Irish heritage in the North of England.

Through oral histories, visual art, music, dance and film, women from across generations of the Irish diaspora share reflections on identity, heritage and belonging in their own voices.

Co-created by Lydia O'Hara and Rosarie Walsh through Emerald LENS CIC, St Brigid's Arms is an immersive celebration of memory, resilience and community.
