This morning, West Derby Explorers 1 have created some beautiful artwork based on ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ 🐛. They used various techniques like Foil Painting, brush paining and finger painting. This variation to the activity enabled the children to explore colours and textures promoting fine motor skills, observation skills, vocabulary and creativity. The children had so much fun 🤩 🐛

Our Preschool topic this month has been Dinosaurs.
We have been reading lots of fiction and non fiction books about dinosaurs 'Dinosaurs love underpants', 'Stomp dinosaur stomp', 'Tyrannasuarus Drip' and 'Harry and the dinosaurs go to school'. We have talked about going to our new schools and also asked our holiday club friends what their school was like.
We have learned about different dinosaurs and what they looked like- we made dinosaur bones from salt dough and we buried them, hunted for them and then dug them up- we labelled dinosaur bodies and we identified prehistoric animals and matched them to the animals we know today.
We made dino underpants, dinosaur hobby horses and painted dinosaur pictures, we made dino-pants pizzas, dinosaur sandwiches and talked about being herbivores, carnivores or omnivores.
We had a dinosaur picnic, built caves and campfires and we made a volcano and carried out our own science experiment and watched the lava flow out. What an Amazing month we have had!!

The children really enjoyed creating dinosaur masks as part of our Nursery wide dinosaur theme. They had a variety of different materials to choose from and self selected the materials to use to create their fantastic mask, which in turn helped to promote their independence and boost their confidence, it’s the Kids in Bloom way of working.

Staff wellbeing is really important to us at Kids in Bloom. Kids in Bloom UOL had a staff massage session yesterday it’s important to take the time to unwind after a busy day playing in the mud.
