Yesterday, our amazing new outdoor learning space and stunning woodland mural were revealed to our children’s families, our supporters and friends at a beautiful garden party.

The mural stretches across the length of the newly expanded outdoor space and depicts an English woodland scene, brought to life with vibrant colours, geometric shapes and woodland animals.

Alongside the mural, we’ve transformed and expanded our outside area into a rich learning environment with maritime-themed play features, a potting shed, sensory herb gardens, a pergola, bug houses and natural play materials.

Outdoor space is such an important part of early years development, helping children build confidence, independence, communication skills, physical coordination and emotional wellbeing through free-flow play.

Our space is named “Grandad Brian’s Garden” in memory of Brian Quinn Senior, whose love of gardening inspired so much of this project

What a lovely sunny Sunday! And look at the lovely bloom on the lilac in The Childcare Academy garden! How beautiful! Did you know that our garden is called Grandad Brian’s Garden? After TCA owner Brian’s dear dad who was a proud gardener himself! And our lilac bush used to be in his garden!

🚒👨‍🚒 On Monday, Big Sharks Room 2 celebrated International Firefighter Day! 🔥

Our little firefighters had so much fun learning all about the amazing work firefighters do 🚨 The children enjoyed racing fire trucks through exciting mark-making activities and role-playing at our very own “Big Sharks Fire Station” ❤️

We loved seeing everyone dress up, work together, and help put out the “fires” safely 🔥🧯 The children showed fantastic imagination and teamwork throughout the day!

Well done toddlers- you were all super firefighters! 👏🚒

What a fantastic day our pre-schoolers had at 🌿🐑

On Friday, 30 of our children, along with parents and staff, travelled by coach for a fun-filled farm adventure. We started the day in the petting shed, where the children met guinea pigs, rabbits, lambs, chicks and even a rat! They were incredibly gentle and curious with all their new animal friends 🐰🐥

We then enjoyed a guided tour of the farm, where the children helped feed sheep and goats, and were very excited to see some very big pigs (and their adorable piglets!) 🐷🐐🐑

After all that exploring, we settled down for a picnic lunch followed by a relaxed stay-and-play session in the fresh air.

It was a wonderful day full of new experiences, learning and lots of smiles 💚

This week the toddlers have had a wonderful time focusing on hand eye coordination, speech and language and also fine motor skills during our ‘messy play’ day, where they used glue, paper, tissue paper, paint and other materials to create their own Easter themed masks 🐰 🖌️ the children mixed different spring colours together that they picked themselves🎨

The children engaged very well in our activity and showed great listening skills when it come to following instructions 👏 well done toddlers🥰❤️
