Not everyone is aware of the distinction between a cardiac arrest and a heart attack. It could mean the difference between life and death to know the difference.
🩺 Do You Know What to Do if Someone Isn’t Breathing?
🚨 Check safety – make sure the scene is safe
🧍 Check response – tap & shout: “Are you okay?”
📞 Call 999 (and get an AED if possible)
🫁 Check breathing – look, listen, feel (10 sec max)
❤️ Start CPR – 30 compressions, 2 breaths
⚡ Use AED as soon as it arrives

Do you have to give rescue breaths when giving CPR on an adult?
The resus council guidelines recommend two rescue breaths for every 30 compressions if you have been trained to do so.
However, compression only CPR is still effective and increases survival rates.
