Another incredible moment for Rare alumnus Ellis Howard! 🏆✨

A HUGE congratulations to Ellis Howard, who has won Breakthrough Performance at the Edinburgh TV Awards for their role in What It Feels Like for a Girl, produced by Hera Pictures for the BBC. 👏

Watching Ellis continue to grow, take on incredible roles and receive recognition for their talent makes us unbelievably proud to call them part of the Rare family. 💙

From training at Rare to winning on the Edinburgh stage, what a journey, and we know there’s so much more still to come.

What a way to finish our first Edinburgh Fringe. 🎭💙

When we created Twelfth Night: Karaoke Era, we wanted to prove that Shakespeare doesn’t have to feel intimidating or inaccessible. It can be loud, energetic, hilarious and something everyone can enjoy.

And judging by the response in Edinburgh, we did just that. 🪩🎤

Review after review celebrated the show for making Shakespeare accessible and exciting, describing it as fun, energetic and a must-see.

Then came the cherry on top… our final few performances SOLD OUT. 🎟️✨

Seeing packed audiences laughing, singing along and embracing our wonderfully chaotic take on Twelfth Night was everything we could have hoped for.

To everyone who bought a ticket, left a review, recommended the show or joined us for a bit of 80s Shakespearean madness, thank you.

Twelfth Night: Karaoke Era made Shakespeare accessible, exciting and genuinely FUN.

Throughout our time in Edinburgh, audiences and reviewers described the show as energetic, hilarious, joyful and a must-see, and by our final few performances, we were absolutely thrilled to be playing to SOLD-OUT audiences! 🎟️👏

Taking Shakespeare and making it feel accessible to everyone was one of the biggest reasons behind creating this show. We wanted audiences to forget any preconceptions they had about Shakespeare and simply get swept up in the story, the characters, the 80s music and, of course, the chaos. 🎤😂

To see that come through again and again in the reviews, and to finish our Fringe run with packed-out shows, means the absolute world to us.

A huge congratulations to our cast and everyone behind Twelfth Night: Karaoke Era. You did exactly what we set out to do, and what a way to finish our first Edinburgh Fringe. 💙

One of the best parts of being at the Edinburgh Fringe? Getting to experience the incredible work of other creatives too. 🎭💙

Between performances of Twelfth Night: Karaoke Era, we’ve been making the most of everything the Fringe has to offer and supporting some brilliant shows along the way.

A huge shoutout to Dacha Theatre’s Shakespeare Dice: As You Like It and The Plandits’ The Big Bad Wolf. We absolutely loved getting to see both! 👏✨

Being surrounded by performers, writers, directors and creatives from all over the world is exactly what makes the Fringe such a special experience for our students and graduates.

Performing, watching, learning, supporting and soaking up every second of Edinburgh. 🫶

A little glimpse into the chaos that was Twelfth Night: Karaoke Era. 🎭🪩🎤

Shakespearean comedy, 80s anthems, live vocals, big characters and an incredible cast who gave everything to every performance.

Here’s just a small snippet of the show we were so proud to take to the Edinburgh Fringe. 💙

Months of rehearsals, years of dreaming and one unforgettable experience.
