Planxiety
The feeling that you want to get going with planning your birth and yet you feel stuck overthinking and procrastinating and progress is slow, if at all.

Feeling like there’s so much to read, do and think about.

Does this resonate?

Planning to birth at home can feel overwhelming. But in reality breaking down the plan can cut the through the noise of overwhelm and procrastination.
📝 Start a list with three separate headings
1. Baby - list out items, info (books resource guides)
2. Mama - Nutrition, movement, mindset, items to buy.
3. The space - what will you need to support you to birth at home.

On weds 19th March I’m hosting a workshop that will address ‘planxiety’ and help mamas to be move from overwhelm to informed.
If you join - you’ll get to sample my coaching and build upon the tips shared.

DM ‘instinct’ to apply for your space. Limited spaces apply!

A beautiful testimony 🙏🏻

🤍I recall the first time I spoke with Marianne on the phone, she was pregnant with her second baby and nervous to say the least about her upcoming birth. Her previous birth had been traumatic and she felt so much of her agency had been taken away by maternity services who had met her with fear mongering at almost every opportunity.

🤩 I worked with her and her partner to address the issues that her previous birth had left with her and prepare for a glorious
homebirth - which I also attended.

🌟Receiving feedback like this and knowing how much it meant to this family to birth on their terms and welcome their baby in such joy is worth it’s weight in gold.

Working with women I’m always in awe of how they can draw from their growing intuition, pregnancy invites deeper connection and ultimately intuition.

✨When mothers make decisions from a deep sense of knowing they are never disappointed. Ever.

✨Intuition doesn’t look for evidence of what is to make decisions. It doesn’t require stats or graphs. It’s a whole body yes that feel’s irrefutable.

✨Intuition is the difference between fear based decision making, it doesn’t appease the ego. Intuition asks questions and the answers that come from quiet enquiry bring about a sense of contentment.

✨Growing intuition in pregnancy protects the birthing space of mother and baby, after all we’ve been using it for time immemorial.

🤲🏻Did you find your instinct through pregnancy? Did it feel enhanced? I’d love to know your thoughts 💭

The conversation goes a little like this…

Me - “How are you preparing for your birth”
Pregnant Mama - ‘“I’m just gonna go with the flow”

But whose ‘flow’ would that centre?

Going with the flow encourages women to not get too focused on their individual birth outcome, to be flexible and ‘open’ to changeable birth outcomes.

🤔 I mean we all know birth is sometimes unpredictable right? And more often very predictable!

Our ancestors could readily “go with the flow” because literally that’s all that was available to them. They’d have a vague idea of their due date, then on the day of labour would work with their body and give birth.

Modern Mamas have a very different experience. Testing, scans, measurements and numerous appointments prime women to almost feel like passengers in their own body!

Modern maternity focuses on timelines and due dates as if they are an absolute and when babies don’t behave and be born when predicted, there’s pressure to induce.

Whose flow is that?

I’ve witnessed countless families being steered into making choices ahead of birth, or on the day itself that serves the hospital protocol and not themselves.

Whose flow is that?

Where in life would one prepare and get into the mindset of a desired outcome by being totally open to it not happening?!

Do athletes do this? Did anyone recall Beyoncé on preparing for a mega world tour repeating the mantra of “er well I should be able to nail this, but something might go wrong” HELL NO!

Let’s change this narrative!
- Get super clear about how you intend to birth!
- Understand potential saboteurs that can derail your plan ahead of time (there are numerous!)
- Stay focused on your aim, understanding that birth is SOMETIMES unpredictable.
- Make sure your birth team are singing from YOUR hymn sheet.

Are you planning your birth? I’m running weekly meet-ups and my Birth prep workshops start July 8th at Lark Lane community hall. DM for all the details!

Tuesdays are “Lets talk birth” At St Mary’s Millenium centre, West Derby 6.30-8.30pm.

💡 Do you have all the questions about your birth? Are you feeling like your questions are not being answered at your maternity appointments?

🤲🏻 Are you being made aware of ALL your choices around birth?

🤰🏽Maybe you want to start meeting expectant families in your area!

Over the next seven weeks I’ll be focusing on birth related topics ranging from…
- Gestation, Due dates and the myth of the ‘aging placenta’
- Hormonal blueprint of birth.
- Shades of labour - supporting birth physiology.

To name a few! Fifteen years supporting birth - I won’t be tracking the mainstream antenatal narrative of preparing families to comply to intervention.

ℹ️ This information is about making choices right for you as in individual, with an emphasis on birth physiology and what can disturb this process!

☕️ All for the price of a coffee
