Some great ways to help yourself feel a little calmer 💫

Free THINGS I CAN SAY TO CALM MY BRAIN: POSTER FOR CHILDREN

Sometimes a child does not need fixing, explaining, or consequences. Sometimes they need words that help their body and brain slow down.

When children feel anxious, overwhelmed, or flooded with big feelings, simple calming phrases can help them feel safer and more in control. Gentle reminders like breathing slowly, pausing, or remembering that feelings pass can support emotional regulation and reduce anxiety in the moment.

This poster offers clear, child friendly calming statements that children can read, hear, or repeat when emotions feel too much. It is especially helpful for children who struggle with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, sensory stress, or behaviour that comes from feeling overloaded rather than defiant.

A small tool like this can make a big difference at home, in classrooms, or in calm corners. It helps children build coping skills, emotional awareness, and confidence in managing difficult moments, with support from the adults around them.
