The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) is a world renowned creative and performing arts institution, creating multi-skilled, innovative and career-ready graduates. It was co-founded by our Lead Patron Sir Paul McCartney and Mark Featherstone-Witty (LIPA's Principal), and is housed in his old school, which underwent a multi-million pound renovation to transform it into a state-of-the-ar

t performing arts higher education institution. Today LIPA has a reputation for being one of the UK's leading higher education institutions. LIPA provides education and training in performing arts, theatre and performance design and technology and management disciplines in a hands-on, collaborative environment. LIPA offers degree courses in Acting, Applied Theatre & Community Drama, Dance, Music Theatre and Entertainment Management, Music, Sound Technology, Theatre and Performance Design and Theatre and Performance Technology. We also run full-time one year Foundation Certificates in Performing Arts (Acting); Performing Arts (Dance); Performing Arts (Singing); and Popular Music and Sound Technology. We train students for a future of sustained employment. Most recent figures have shown that over the most recent four year period, 93% of LIPA’s graduates are in work three years after leaving, while 87% work in the performing arts. To achieve this, our curriculum is constantly being revised. We offer a range of programmes, including:

:: Foundation Certificate courses and undergraduate courses offering BA (Honours) Degree programmes for applicants aged 18 and over
:: Performing arts classes for 4 - 19 year olds

Look out for Acting grads Aidan Rivers and Laura Robinson at this year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Their sketch show Knickerbocker Glory is part of the PBH Free Fringe line up ✨

Aidan says: "Performing at Edinburgh Fringe is an exhilarating step for us at this early stage in our careers, but we're up for the challenge and we're thrilled to be out here representing LIPA!

"Assembling a sketch show from scratch has been both rigorous and rewarding. The character work is heavy because there's so many of them, especially because comedy demands such agility and specificity. It's been a total whirlwind, and we couldn't have done it without the tools given to us at LIPA.

"We're truly honoured to be in the PBH Free Fringe lineup, and enormously grateful to have received the LIPA Enterprise fund to financially support our project. We're already discussing our project's life after fringe, and we truly can't wait to see what's next! Follow to join us along the way!"

If you're performing at Fringe this year, or even just attending to watch some shows, don't forget to tag us in your stories! ❤️
