We had another gorgeous Christmas craft club yesterday, painting nutcracker ornaments and making paper plate elves. Everyone had so much fun 😍

It was such a lot of fun at the first Christmas craft club today. I love the gingerbread house ornaments that we made! Christmas Bingo went down a treat too. Tomorrow’s club is fully booked and has a waiting list!

I’m honestly getting tired of hearing the same old narrative that “kids are over-diagnosed” or that tools like ear defenders “shouldn’t be allowed” in classrooms.
Let’s be clear: children aren’t being over-diagnosed. They’re finally being seen.
For decades, autistic and ADHD children, especially girls, were ignored, punished or written off as problems because adults didn’t understand them.
Families aren’t chasing labels for fun; they’re fighting for their children to get the support they should have had all along.
And ear defenders? They’re not a trend. They’re not “pandering.” They’re a simple, cheap, life-changing adjustment that helps neurodivergent kids stay regulated and actually learn.
Classrooms are noisy. Overwhelming. Chaotic. If a pair of headphones stops a child from melting down or shutting down, why on earth would we take that away?
We give glasses to kids who can’t see.
We give inhalers to kids who can’t breathe.
But a child who struggles with sensory overload is expected to “just cope”?
No. Absolutely not.
Neurodivergent children aren’t the problem.
The problem is adults who refuse to understand them.
Inclusion isn’t optional. It’s a responsibility.

Another great time at our second Halloween craft club today. We used a scraping technique to make spooky tree silhouette paintings. We also made dangly leg characters and pumpkin people.
I’m already thinking of ideas for the Christmas craft club!
It was such a lot of fun at our first Halloween craft club this morning. We made watercolour spider webs, decorated wooden pumpkins and did Halloween scratch art. It was a brilliant atmosphere filled with creativity and laughter 🥰🎃

I love it when you get a game out during a session and the students response is a resounding, “YES!”
