We can’t wait to open our book fair to everyone tomorrow. Please remember it is open every day until next Wednesday 3.10-3.45 for parents and children. (One whole week!)
Children also have days to visit with their class teachers if you want to send any money into school on their day.

We will be holding a coffee morning for all parents/carers on Tuesday 5th March at 9.10am. The coffee morning will be hosted by the Year 1 team and phonics lead to look further at the Phonics Screening Check.
Helping you and your child with reading tips and tricks at home and all the information regarding dates, expectations and what the check looks like for our Year 1’s and also our year 2’s who did not pass previously.

We will be holding a coffee morning for all parents/carers on Monday 04th March at 9am. The coffee morning will be hosted by the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) who will introduce two parenting groups exclusively for LIPA parents/carers that will take place after the Easter break:
Helping your child with fears and worries (Parenting for anxiety) 6 weeks: 1.5 Hour Sessions
The Group explores strategies to support anxious children. This is a guided self-help approach for parents/carers managing panic, general, social and separation anxiety difficulties.
Parenting for Behaviour that challenges 6 weeks: 1-hour session
Explores positive behavioural approaches to managing challenging behaviour in children. Parents/Carers will be expected to apply the techniques explored in the session at home and discuss progress and barriers during sessions with other parents.

Our Year 5 and Year 6 boys played fantastically to win 7-0. It was an exciting match against Banks Road. They were all Captain Collaborative on and off the pitch. Well done boys ⚽️

Over the past week, all of our KS3 students have taken part in The Money Charity workshops where they learned about all things finance including planning, budgeting, saving and credit! 💰

Year 4 loved making pizzas in food technology today! They compared the ingredients in home made pizza with the ingredients of processed pizza to decide which would be a healthier choice 🍕

Year 1 couldn’t believe their eyes when they returned to school on Monday, their reading area has been turned into a forest!

Year 2 have been Captain Discipline in science this week as they have labelled parts of plants and discussed the role that each part plays in keeping the plant alive and healthy ☺️

In the last week of term, Liverbirds had a wonderful afternoon performing poems that they had written about the wonderful world that we live in to the Philharmonic class. The Year 1 children listened well and could talk about what they had enjoyed about the children’s performances. Year 3 also shared some drawings and posters that they had made with the younger children.

Year 5 challenged themselves with a tricky maths problem solving activity - matching up equivalent fractions and decimals! Lots of fabulous maths language being used as well as skills like converting improper fractions into mixed numbers, simplifying fractions and converting them into decimals. 🔢
