Yesterday one of my lovely childminding families had to cancel everything it upset me that the children was missing out the magic , so with the help of a very good friend and we created a little magic last night Posted • The Christmas we had to isolate: and I am so struck by the kindness of people. From full refunds on events to gifts in the posts to flipping doorstep Santa visits!
As our Covid case numbers are going up let's not forget that every number is a person. A person who has just been told to isolate over Christmas, and there is a whole family attached.
Yesterday I cancelled our Santa visit because we are a number. Like everyone else the past two years we have cancelled holidays, trips, visits, play dates, haircuts, meals out... even a tractor parade. But cancelling Santa hit hard.
Then, like a movie, he walked right up to our door and said all the right things. My friend sent us this doorstep Santa visit, outrageously kind. It was so magical, the kids have woken up with non-stop chat about Santa coming to them because he knew they were sick.
So I'm sat here now thinking of what outrageously kind thing I can do to pay it forward to another family finding themselves in isolation this Christmas. I will take all your suggestions.
