Chemical shift is an important concept in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy. It refers to the displacement of a resonance signal in a magnetic field relative to a reference signal. The chemical shift is measured in parts per million (ppm) and provides information about the chemical environment surrounding the nucleus being observed
NMR
Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) experiments are used to study the structure and properties of molecules by measuring the interaction between atomic nuclei and a magnetic field. The following are some of the most common NMR experiments:
1D -NMR
Proton NMR: This experiment measures the resonances of hydrogen atoms in a molecule. It provides information on the number and types of hydrogen atoms present in the molecule, as well as their environment.
Carbon NMR: This experiment measures the resonances of carbon atoms in a molecule. It provides information on the number and types of carbon atoms present in the molecule, as well as their environment.
2D-NMR
This experiment involves applying two magnetic fields simultaneously and observing the resulting spectra. It provides information on the correlations between nuclei in a molecule, which can help to determine the molecule's structure.
NOESY: This experiment uses nuclear Overhauser effect to observe the interaction between nuclei in a molecule, providing information on the relative positions of atoms in a molecule.
COSY: This experiment measures the correlations between the protons in a molecule. It can help to identify coupled protons and their relationship to one another.
HSQC: This experiment correlates hydrogen and carbon resonances in a molecule, providing information on the connectivity between carbon and hydrogen atoms in the molecule.
HMBC: This experiment correlates hydrogen and carbon resonances in a molecule but with a longer range, providing information on the connectivity between carbon and hydrogen atoms that are further apart in the molecule.

What does follow-up of natural product isolation mean?
It means re-isolation of natural product to obtain larger quantities of certain compounds for various purposes such as conducting further biological tests, determining the conclusive structure, modifying the structure for structure activity relationships (SAR) studies, or conducting ecological or chemotaxonomic investigations.
