Felt so good to be back to delivering the UKCC Level 1 Award in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics over the last couple of weekends after a couple of months off with my newest tiny human!

This group were fantastic, so engaged and willing to learn which made my job so much easier! Can’t wait to hopefully see them on a Level 2 in the future!

“If you had never been taught the alphabet, you would never be able to write a story”

That might seem like a somewhat obvious statement but it’s something I use all the time in my coaching and tutoring to highlight the importance of strong basics in skill progression.

Breaking a skill down into loads of skill prep and physical prep is one of my favourite things to do. As a gymnast I was always taught the importance of really good basics and it stuck with me throughout my career as a coach and now as a tutor.

Does anyone else have little philosophies like this that they stick by?

Course Booked: UKCC Level 1 Award in Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (Virtual)

Keeping myself busy with two level one courses in April, one general and this one is Women’s Artistic.

Another benefit of this course being virtual is the flexibility for the coaches in choosing dates and times that suit them best, instead of having to rely on it being over a weekend.

Course times of a weekday are 5pm-9pm so it can be done after work, or after college, 6th form, university or wherever else you may be during the day!

You might be wondering does that mean you can’t eat your tea until after the session finishes. Absolutely not! I’m happy for you to eat whilst the course is running or we can schedule a break at an appropriate time.

There are 16 spaces on this course at the minute so make sure to book your space as soon as possible!

Any course I am highlighting or promoting is delivered in partnership with British Gymnastics. Follow the link below or email [email protected] for more information

Course Booked: UKCC Level 1 Award In General Gymnastics (Virtual)

Are you aged 16 by day 1 of the course, and want to start your coaching journey? The level 1 General course is a great introduction to coaching for you to allow you to have you own group under the supervision of a qualified level 2.

Over the 4 days we will cover some theory including coaching styles, learning styles, safeguarding and health and safety in your delivery, along with discipline specific content via videos where I will show you different ways to support and break the skill down into preparations to help you teach gymnasts how to perform the skills.

There are currently 16 places on the course so book your space early as these courses fill quickly!
