Showstoppers Drama Club

Well, Here we go Again! 🎭 They’re back in class and have already began working on their new musical, based on the songs from the classic Mamma Mia! 🎶 The Showstoppers will be working hard over the next few months with choreography, scene work and many songs! 🎤 The management team at Showstoppers are excited at the progress they will make and can’t wait to share our musical with you later in the year! 💃

At Showstoppers we love to celebrate our students and their hard work! 💪

We have a huge snakes and ladders board that ALL of our students across both classes work super hard to get dice rolls each week to battle it to the top of the board! 🪜🎲

This is only the second game we’ve ever ran and it’s been going for a good few months! This week though we are pleased to announce that our second game has now been won by one of our amazing students, Phoebe! She’s worked incredibly hard the past couple of months and as a class we all celebrated her success in getting to top of the board! 🥳

Phoebe has won herself an incredible £30 Amazon voucher courtesy of Showstoppers Drama Club! 🛍️

Well done to ALL of our students for trying hard every week and we hope you can continue the amazing work! Who will be our next winner? ⁉️🧐

We are delighted in the progress that our Monday class are making in their current rehearsals towards their next show Disney Descendants!

Every week they come and they engage with us and take on board everything we tell them and over the last few weeks they have been working extremely hard and demonstrating some amazing characterisation and core drama skills! 💪

The amazing Thursday Class have started their rehearsals for their next upcoming show! 😄

We are pleased to announce they will be performing in our very own Showstoppers Story “Starstruck”! 🎭

As a Theatre Group, we first performed Starstruck with our Monday class back in 2021 and have since revamped, refreshed and added so much more into it, which our Thursday class have thrown themselves into head on! Amazing work from you all! Keep up the hard work and you’ll be on your way to Show Day in no time! 🤩

That’s a wrap on Monday’s sessions for this year!

Our Monday class have had lots of fun tonight with many festive themed games and tasks, from Stuck in the snow to Nightmare Christmas Mummy’s! 🧻🎄

Also a huge shoutout to our student of the term Maia! 😁 Who has worked extremely hard through our skill classes and is really succeeding in bringing her character to life in Mondays Musical “ Disney Descendants” 🎭

We’ll see all our Monday class back, next year on the 8th January 2024! Until then, Happy Holidays! 🎄

I’m really saddened to learn that someone has took it upon themselves to rip down our Showstoppers banner advertising our drama club 😞

I’m unsure who it was, whether it was the local authority or someone else.

I just think it’s really sad that people can’t understand that small businesses, who don’t make a lot of profit and try to make a difference to young people’s lives, have taken money from their own pocket to try and spread the word so that other kids can achieve what our past students have. Then now we have to look at replacing our banner which doesn’t come cheap for the money that we bring in.

It’s a shame more so that our contact information was on the banner and whoever took it down (if it was the local authority) could have contacted us first and we would have came to collect it. Despite the fact it has been there for a good 6 months. Shame 😕

Our Thursday class really have proved their talent in their performance of The Little Mermaid last Thursday! 😁 We hope you all enjoyed the show, just as much as we enjoyed performing it! Our Showstoppers Management Team are over the moon with all our students and their hard work over the last year! What’s next for our Thursday Class? New Musical Incoming! 🎭

Big congratulations to one of our students Ace! Who has been lucky enough to win our first ever game of ShowSnakes and Ladders! 🐍

All of our students get the chance every lesson to prove themselves through good behaviour and by demonstrating our Showstoppers Drama Values to get a roll of the dice to move themselves across the board and try to get to the finish line before anyone else does!

Ace had a bout of good luck and has managed to get to the top with some lucky lands on ladders! We can’t wait to see who will win next time! 🎭🥳

This week our Monday class have been working on characterisation!

They were challenged to come dressed as characters of their choice and what an amazing bunch of characters we met!
