A great class last night, working on kicking and sweeping combinations, followed by Enpi. Great to have Tony back in the dojo following his great success at the British Championships on the weekend and always a pleasure to be joined by his eldest son, Anthony.

Last night, we conducted our third grading working in partnership with Refugee Action. The progress and development these guys have made since April is nothing short of outstanding! These guys have overcome so much and to teach them and watch them progress in the world of Karate is an absolute privilege. Well done guys! We could not be more proud.

Karate without borders. Karate without end.

Fenikkusu Shotokan Karate Club was at the HDKI - GB Christmas Course this weekend. It was a fantastic course with several brilliant sessions taught over the two days.

It began with a moving tribute for Damion. A few words spoken by Stuart Sensei, followed by a minute's silence, then 10 rigorous punches, performed with a spirit and determination Damo would have loved.

Thank you to Simon Bligh Sensei for the tribute. Osu

It is with complete and utter heartbreak that I have to inform you all of the passing of Damion Wood.

Damion was truly a giant of the martial art world, known and loved by all. His ability, aptitude and knowledge as a Karateka was second to none, matched only by the love he had for his family and friends. A love that was returned in kind.

I do not have the words to say fully how much Damion meant to all of us. He was with us through the best and worst of times and was always there for everyone, both in and out of the dojo.

We were blessed to have shared so much time together, at home and on our travels. And he will travel with us always.

Rest in peace brother.
