As another school year comes to an end, we would like to wish all of our pupils and families a wonderful, safe and relaxing summer holiday. Thank you for your continued support throughout the year.

To our amazing Year 6 pupils, we are incredibly proud of all you have achieved during your time with us. As you move on to the next stage of your journey, we wish you every success, happiness and confidence for the future. Keep believing in yourselves—we know you will achieve great things!

📚 Summer Reading Challenge 2026 📚

We are excited to share that children across West Sussex can take part in the Summer Reading Challenge at their local library from Saturday 4 July!

The challenge is a fantastic way to keep children reading over the summer holidays while having fun along the way. Children can:
📖 Sign up for free at their local library
🎵 Watch the Read to the Beat video to find out more
📚 Choose and read library books they enjoy
🏆 Collect rewards and complete fun “Make the Challenge Your Own” activities
🎉 Take part in events and activities at their local library

Taking part is completely free, and children can read whatever books they like — the most important thing is to enjoy reading!

We were delighted to welcome our local MP, Alison Griffiths, to school this morning to speak with our pupils about her role as a Member of Parliament and the work she does to represent the local community.

Our pupils had the opportunity to learn more about what an MP does, how decisions are made, and the ways in which elected representatives can help bring about change. The visit also gave pupils the chance to ask some challenging and thoughtful questions, which had been gathered by our School Council.

It was fantastic to see our pupils engaging so confidently in discussions about important issues and developing their understanding of democracy, representation, and having their voices heard. We are incredibly proud of the curiosity, maturity, and thoughtfulness they showed throughout the visit.

A big thank you to Alison for taking the time to visit us and for answering our pupils’ questions so openly.

What an incredible afternoon we had in the hall for St Catherine's Got Talent! 🌟

Everyone agreed that the standard of performances was even higher this year, making it an incredibly difficult task for our judges to choose the winners.

A huge well done to our fantastic Year 6 hosts and judges for leading the event so brilliantly, to every pupil who took to the stage and showcased their talents, and of course to our very talented winners. We are so proud of each and every one of you for your confidence, creativity and enthusiasm. What a wonderful way to celebrate the amazing talents within our school community!

As part of Healthy Week, we were delighted to host our Clubs Fair on the playground after school today.

This week our pupils have been learning about the Five Steps to Wellbeing, and joining a club is a fantastic way to support their wellbeing by helping them connect with others, be active, and keep learning new skills.

A huge thank you to all the local clubs and organisations who came along to share what they have to offer with our school community. We hope many of our pupils have been inspired to discover a new hobby, develop a new talent, or try something different! 😀

Congratulations to Team Nightingale, who were today crowned our House Champions for the year!

Their victory was well deserved, thanks in large part to winning the most monthly attendance awards throughout the year, as well as taking home the top prize on Sports Day.

To celebrate their fantastic achievement, Team Nightingale enjoyed ice lollies in the sunshine this afternoon—a well-earned reward!
