Year 5 were visited by West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service last week. Each class learnt about the 3 elements needed to create a fire, how to prevent fires from starting and strategies to follow in the event of a fire. The focus was on safety and each class asked the crew some very pertinent questions. The children loved the tour of the fire engine, learning about the equipment onboard and what it is used for in a variety of different emergencies. Without a shadow of doubt, the highlight was having a go at using the hose!
