We would like to thank all of the parents & carers who came to watch the TLA Drama Club presentation of “Snow White”last week.🍎✨

We were sold out on both nights & are incredibly proud of all of the TLA Drama club team.
All of the actors & stage crew had to coordinate hundreds of costume changes, & set changes throughout the production & they did so with such professionalism.✨

The script & staging were written by our very own Miss Collins & the set was designed & created by several of our Drama classes & our Drama “Set club” in the run up to the show.
The production represents a large proportion of our Drama students at TLA & we could not be prouder of them.✨

We look forward to hosting you again at our upcoming events; the “Evening of Dance” in the main hall on the 18th March and again on the 20th June for our “Queen” extravaganza!✨

Our yr 10 students are currently all studying a first aid unit during one of their PE lessons. They learn about a variety of different scenarios and how to recognise signs and symptoms of specific situations and how to help if needed. Here are some of our wonderful future first aiders, learning how to perform CPR.

It was great to see so many students & teachers out to cheer on our year 9 team from the sideline.
Our next home game is Tuesday 6th February.

✨Our wonderful Miss Gallagher has been teaching our Y10 Design & technology students on how to carve soap! Inspired by sculpture artist Dame Barbara Hepworth.

Barbara Hepworth’s works were among the earliest abstract sculptures produced in England. Her lyrical forms and feeling for material made her one of the most influential sculptors of the mid-20th century.✨

✨ Celebrating the Joy of the Season with Our TLA Christmas Card Competition! ✨

This year, our talented year 7 students poured their creativity and love into designing the most enchanting Christmas cards.
Each entry was a testament to the incredible talent and imagination that thrives within our school community. 🎨🌟

Congratulations to our talented winners! Oscar, Josh, Cory, Leah, Finley & Ryan.
Your beautiful cards captured the true spirit of Christmas🎄✨

Today Miss Rich taught her year 8 classes all about a Victorian Christmas and what became popular during this period. One of the most significant seasonal traditions to emerge from the Victorian era was the Christmas card. Sir Henry Cole, the first director of the V&A, introduced the idea of the Christmas card in 1843. Our year 8s had the chance to create their very own Victorian inspired Christmas card, and they created some beautiful designs ✨

TLA were proud to host Toby Hewson as he came & spoke to us about disabilities & the power in celebrating difference. ✨
You could have heard a pin drop as Toby, via his specially adapted computer told us stories about his life, his love of sking & the support he needs.
A privileged Y11 class had an extra hour to spend with Toby, to listen in more detail & having an open & honest Q & A time with him.

Thank you Toby for coming to see us! ✨

Our Year 10 students have been sharing their Art work with each other & had the opportunity to share positive feedback & advice on how they could each develop their work further.
The clay work is Art, Craft & Design students experimenting with ceramic sculpture techniques. They have been developing their own designs by investigating ideas inspired by the sea & coastline.
