Our Year 10 students had a memorable celebration afternoon on Friday on the school field. They engaged in various activities including football, volleyball, bracelet making, face painting, and lots of singing and dancing.
The fun-filled afternoon concluded with a delicious treat of pizza and Ice cream! 🍕🍦😋
It was a fantastic way to wrap up a successful year, and all the students thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Well done to Year 10 for making it a special and memorable event.

Yesterday, our year 9 students enjoyed a fantastic day out at Guildford Spectrum on an enrichment trip organised by Mr. Field. Their behaviour was exemplary as they had a go at ice skating and then bowling with their peers.

A big thank you to our year 9 team for planning this exciting outing and to our dedicated teachers and support staff members who chaperoned the students throughout the day. 🎳⛸️✨

Last week we had two of our last assemblies led by the fantastic year 7 students! In 7OBA, the focus was on the Olympics, while 7KGO shed light on pollution and the consequences of littering. Our final assembly this week will showcase a thought-provoking film on language, crafted and presented by the talented students of 7GBR. It has been inspiring to see our students put in so much effort and courageously address their peers during their chosen assemblies.

Earlier this week our Year 10 geography students headed to Littlehampton beach for their compulsory physical fieldwork module🗺️Their mission? To Investigate the effectiveness of the coastal management strategies along the seafront.
In between collecting data and surveying the sea wall, students found time to enjoy some well deserved ice cream! 🍦

A big thank you to all the talented musicians, choir members, drama students, and dancers who made the event a success. ✨

Some of our lucky Yr7 athletes had an amazing day out at the 1st Central County Ground in Hove, where they watched the Southern Vipers take on the South East Stars. The students showed exceptional behavior and had the opportunity to witness an exciting and competitive game🏏

To show their support for the charity Hope Full , each tutor group has been asked to collect essential items to be placed in pillowcases and sent directly to Ukraine by the organization. Students were encouraged to decorate the pillowcases with messages of hope and kindness, as well as contribute any of the following items:

- Baby milk powder
- Nappies
- Baby wipes
- Antiseptic wipes
- Deodorant
- Shower gel
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrushes
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Body lotion
- Sudocreme
- Vaseline

Here are some of the donated pillowcases decorated with messages in Ukrainian and filled with much-needed donations. 💙💛🇺🇦

Yesterday afternoon Miss Gallagher & Mr Baxter took a group of our year 10 3D Design students, to Littlehampton seafront to study the architecture of Thomas Heatherwick at the East Beach Café. One of our students clearly had a very relaxing time! 🤭

You have been invited along with our local primary schools to create a pollution awareness poster, for a chance to have it displayed on official boards along the south east coast by Southern Water.
The artwork can be any size, style, and made from any materials of your choice. Let your creativity soar and have fun with this project!
The deadline for submissions is June 6th.
Please remember to write your full name and class code on the back of your artwork and submit it to your art teachers or Mrs. Sheldon.

Today, the highly skilled 7CDV wrapped up their tutor assembly on mental health, earning praise from both staff and students 👏🏼 Additionally, we bid a heartfelt farewell to Ms White, our Year 7 leader, who will be embarking on a new chapter after the half term break. Thank you, Ms White, for your invaluable support and assistance throughout the year! We will miss you! 💐

Our Y10 students have been learning about the unexpected life event of teenage pregnancy and the effect this has on growth and development. They have worked really hard and the academy has been full of cute flour baby creations! 👶🍼

We are excited to announce A Night of Queen! Taking place in TLA's main hall on the 20th June, with doors opening at 6:30pm.
You can expect to hear all of your favourite Queen songs performed by students, with the addition of dance and drama🎭

Our Year 11 students enjoyed a lovely sunny day of shirt signing with friends and teachers during lunch break today.
They left heartfelt messages to creative doodles and turned their school shirts into sparkly, colourful masterpieces! 🎨👕🎉 "

Last week a group of our year 8 students travelled to visit the spectacular ‘Neasden Temple’, which is a sanctuary of vibrant Hindu worship in north-west London. The students had an amazing time learning about the Mandir & its history & about the religion of Hinduism.

The coach was full of excited chat, singing (when they could remember the words!) & discussion about Harry Potter!

On Friday we had the first year 7 tutor group led assembly with the very capable 7BBR!
Each student took a turn to get up on the mic in front of the year group. They offered information on global warming, polar bears and penguins!
It was a fun and informative assembly planned and delivered well, good work 7BBR!
Other year 7 tutor groups will be completing their own assemblies this term - watch this space!

Our 14th prayer week has been amazing with students from all faiths and none engaging in mindfulness, meditation, reflection and prayer. Looking at forgiveness, peace, healing, hopes and lots more issues we are all facing. In the TLA chapel the students went round the different stations to be creative in prayer. To quote one student said “I feel so calm even when my world is very stormy, this space is so good”. Our chaplain Paul Sanderson said “We are human beings after all so to find some time to be still, reflective and think about others is so good for our mind, our heart and our soul”.

Today marks World Earth Day, an annual prompt to pause, reflect, to come together & to act. To tread lightly, to do no harm, to live sustainably & protect this beautiful planet we call home.🌍

On Sunday 7th April, a group of Y7s attended a concert of Sea Songs by the Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra at the Brighton Dome with Mr Dearman and Miss Bosley. This trip was a chance for the students to experience live Classical music including music by the likes of Benjamin Britten and Claude Debussy. Students and teachers alike had a brilliant afternoon and each had a different favourite piece!
