Common sense is the key

Your child won’t be sat on desks 2 metres apart
Asked to play in a circle chalked upon the floor
They won’t have toys removed, walls stripped bare and comforters left at home,
They won’t be told to wipe grazed knees, to stay apart and only give themselves a cuddle
They won’t have allocated toilet times or restricted times outside
They won’t be told to stay away from friends, stop sharing, don’t come close
They won’t be turned away from a hug, a story on a knee, or a hand to help their way
But I will do my very best to keep them safe each day
They will wash their hands on arrival and frequently through the day
I will wash their toys and spray surfaces, wipe and clean away
They will play outside freely with soapy water close at hand
They will be protected as is possible inside a safe, clean home
They will be hugged and helped, their hands held and rocked softly to sleep
They will play with friends and run around, build, make, sing, read, draw, and pretend
I will listen to their singing, kneel close to hear their words, hold them when they are sad or tired, play games and dance together
I will talk them though their fears and wipe away their tears
I will keep them safe as best I can with love, and care and play
