White Meadows Primary Academy

3 Form entry primary academy in Littlehampton, West Sussex

Operating as usual

Reception were all extremely excited to discover that the Zoo had sent us a large, red box. We think that there might be an animal inside, but we aren't quite sure what animal it might be. Some children guessed a tiger, others guessed a dog. What animal do you think is inside the box?

Can you believe the Christmas break has come and gone? We cannot wait to see your smiley faces coming through the door this morning. I wonder what new topic you'll be diving into this term?

Good luck to all the children singing at Arundel Cathedral today. Remember the timings have changed. Please be at the rehearsal no later than 11.45am. The concert time is now 4pm, so please be back at the cathedral no later than 3.45pm. Thank you.

This week, Year 3 have been lucky enough to learn all about Victorian police and about the history behind policing in Britain. Did you know that the county of Sussex comes from the name 'South Saxon'?

On Tuesday, Year 3 visited All Saints Church and had a festive Christingle service. The children were very respectful in the Church and enjoyed learning about what a Christingle represented.

Year 2 had a ‘Wheely’ good time at Amberly Museum. We braved the harsh conditions and ventured there by train. We had a ride on an open-top bus, rode on an old train, and had a go at making our own wheel (some of us even hiked up a hill to admire the spectacular views). Peek at what we got up to...

Someone is getting ready to visit.

Please remember to book your space to see Santa on the Arbor App!

Reminder that it is White Meadows Christmas Fayre tomorrow (Wednesday) 3.30pm – 5.00pm.
Lots of fun, games, and Christmas treats.
See parent mail for more information.

1, 2, 3, 4!
This week, Reception children have been focusing on the number 4 in their maths lessons. We have been looking at what is special about the number 4 and also finding different ways to represent 4.

The children of Early Years and Key Stage One had the best time watching Chaplin's Cinderella Pantomime. The shrieks of laughter and delight could be heard all around the school. They could barely contain the excitement they felt. Pantomimes like this mean one thing... Christmas is coming!

Holiday Club is back with a festive feeling. Book now to avoid disappointment.

Congratulations Pine and Aspen!

Christmas is here in Nursery. The Christmas tree and decorations are all up and we even got to see a pantomime on Wednesday. 'Oh no they didn’t!' 'Oh yes they did!'

In science, Year 4 continue to develop their understanding of electrical circuits. In this week's lesson, we made our own switches.

Today, White Meadows thoroughly enjoyed taking part in ‘Be Internet Legends Day’. We loved 'kind time' - sharing positive thoughts to others and voting in the Kindness Awards!

It is that time of year again when the Christmas Fayre is back in town! Why not come along with some pennies and see what festivities are on offer?! We have it all from Santa's Grotto to our annual raffle / tombola. Make sure you don't miss out on all the festive fun!

A huge congratulations to the girls football squad and the two boys football squads, who have competed at TLA in recent weeks.

Once again, the children were a credit to White Meadows. Supporting staff and parents were immensely proud of the hard work, teamwork, and respect on show.

Congratulations Rowan and Larch!

Nursery have been learning about Diwali this week. They have learned that Diwali is the Festival of Light and have begun to make their own diva lamps, decorated some Rangoli patterns with coloured rice, and have drawn some of their own Mendhi patterns. Happy Diwali!

White Meadows School Council is made up of representatives from each class in KS1 and KS2, who are supported by Mrs Hudson and Mrs Reid. We meet regularly to discuss school events and changes.

Today, the School Council met with the Chair of Governors, and we discussed how we could improve wet playtimes and attendance at White Meadows.
If you would like to find out more about the School Council or have any questions/ideas, please contact Mrs Hudson or Mrs Reid.
