Rowans and Willows had a joint Maths Morning yesterday. It gave the older children an opportunity to use their maths skills to teach and support the younger childrenās learning. Wonderful cooperative work from all!
Yesterday Maple class made Reindeer Crispy Cakes as part of our DT project about following recipes. A festive treat as we enter December!
Willows Bikes & Trikes Day was a huge success! The children loved getting to explore the playground on their wheels. Some of us enjoyed following the road and creating stories. Some preferred the off-road approach.
Fantastic directional language and vocab about how things work.
Get those wheels ready Willow Class!
Maple Class took on the role of jurors today in PSHE. We heard the case of Miss G Locks; accused of several crimes (including theft of porridge!)
They discussed as a group, argued for guilty or innocent, then voted.
Final result: Goldie was found innocent in Maple Crown Court!
Willow class have been learning about Diwali. Today we made Diwa lamps out of clay and decorated them with beads & sequins. Tomorrow, once theyāve dried, we will add a candle for the Festival of Lights!
Miss Brombley is getting married! We celebrated together today in collective worship and we look forward to welcoming Mrs. Smith back after half term.
Today Willow class have been practising a new tricky word: ātheā
We all had it on us so we could ask each other what it was during the day. The children loved the novelty of having the sticky label. Even Miss Brombley joined in!
This afternoon Maple class did the glitter experiment (ask them about it!) to show how far germs can travel if you donāt catch your sneezes or wash your hands! We then made posters to promote better hand hygiene.

Good Morning- hopefully youāve seen the email that we are unfortunately closed today.
Thames Water have delivered a reasonable amount of large bottles of water which allows us to support any local houses that are also without water.
You can collect it from outside the school driveway entrance (please only take a pack of 6 bottles per household to ensure thereās plenty for all).
Amazing data collection from Maple Class today. We counted up different types of vehicles passing the school and turned it into a bar graph as part of our geography topic. The whole class were so focused and engaged- fantastic work!
Yesterday we all headed to Forest School and got to make apple juice. From picking, to chopping, to crushing, to pressingā¦and of course, tasting (it was delicious!)
Please do join us tonight to learn more about how we do phonics and early reading in school. Your support and engagement makes a huge difference to your child.
KS2 have been learning about weaving in Art this afternoon. We've made a mini loom, wound our yarn to make a warp and are beginning to weave the weft.
Willow Class had an incredible time at Forest School this morning. Climbing trees, swinging in hammocks, collecting acorns and sticking helicopter seeds on our noses!
Maple Class have been working hard this week in Geography- exploring an atlas and trying to use their detective eyes to find the answers to questions about the world.
We started the new year by looking at our school vision and thinking about how we want to grow and flourish this year.
ālike a mustard seed, ā¦Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of all garden plants and becomes a treeā¦ā Matthew 13:32
Just a reminder for the next few days!
Hopefully you received the email with full details about how our wonderful Friends of Little Milton have launched a lottery with Your School Lottery. This will raise vital funds for the school and support the enrichment of our children and environment.
The first draw for the school lottery will be on the 2nd of July (see flyer below for more details)
Willow class enjoyed pond dipping at Forest School this morning followed by lots of tree climbing and rope swinging!
Willows Class are enjoying exploring Oxford Botanical Gardens today!
Thank you to everyone who came to watch the children do their Maypole last night. Weāre so proud of all the classes for their dances. What a wonderful evening to celebrate our 150th anniversary!
How wonderful to see the childrenās portraits of the Queen on display!

Chilling before bed with Top Trumps and hot chocolate!
Fantastic teamwork today canoeing down the river!
Last night's activity was photo orienteering around the Woodlands grounds and we were soon asleep after a busy day. There was some impressive hoovering and pyjama folding this morning before room inspections. We are now kitted out and ready for canoeing!
A few more photos from the day!
A lot of fun was had in the river this afternoon!
We've had a fantastic day in the mountains today. In the morning we walked in the pitch black through an abandoned train tunnel.
