Lessons available at our premises in Little Eaton, your own home or in school for Little Eaton Primary School pupils. We both hold teaching qualifications, diplomas in performance and are qualified to teach theory of music. As well as teaching, Phil also performs piano and organ all over the UK for recitals and other functions, and has performed internationally. We have decades of experience betwe
en us, over the years we have taught hundreds (possibly thousands!) of pupils ranging from children in Year 1 right up to retired adults who have always wanted to learn the piano but never had the chance as children. In addition to teaching in Little Eaton Primary School and privately, we have previously taught for the ‘Technics Music Academy’ and had pupils compete in their national shows of which an ensemble led by Phil was placed 2nd in the UK national finals. We are qualified to teach the Junior Music Programme (JMP) course which was designed specifically for children aged 5 - 7 years. Music education in these years, not only provides musical skills, but enhances other number, letter and motor skills and can boost self-esteem in children with low confidence. Because of our diverse range of pupils we adapt our teaching techniques depending on the age, skill and objectives of each individual. Many of our pupils take piano exams with either Trinity College or ABRSM, of which a high percentage gain Distinctions or Merits. However, exams are not compulsory and the main objective of our lessons is to make it fun and for the pupil to enjoy their journey of learning to play the piano. Each year for LEPS pupils we have a Summer Music Concert when our pupils have the chance to showcase their best pieces to parents and other students. We are always extremely proud of the effort the children make, showing how they have progressed from one year to the next.
