Last week, some of our Law and Criminology students attended a Mock Trial event at Hugh Baird University Centre🧑‍⚖️

It was an interactive session, exploring the role of a judge, how court proceedings work and the real-world impact of criminal convictions.

It was a great opportunity to experience Law and Criminology beyond the classroom!💜

Yesterday, our students came together for a day dedicated to mental health awareness🫶✨

Throughout the day, they took time to reflect on what they’re grateful for and what motivates them, learn about mental health first aid, step away from their screens with a digital detox, and find moments of calm through meditation🧘‍♀️📵

A reminder that looking after your mental health matters and its okay to speak to someone if you're struggling💜

Well done to our Year 12 and 13 Mathematicians, who were invited to sit the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge yesterday!✨

The problems on the Senior Maths Challenge are designed to make students think, with stimulating problems for both beginners and experienced problem-solvers.

We are really proud of the way the students rose to the challenge!💜

Year 13 A Level History students were tasked with visiting the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool over the summer holiday to see the Holbein of Henry VIII.

One of the students said: "It was my first time seeing the Henry VIII painting by Holbein. It was much bigger than I expected and it shows Henry’s power and authority was and how he wanted people to see him."

Another students also went to the National Portrait Gallery in London to compare. They said
"I enjoyed seeing the portrait of Henry and his father as it allowed me to understand the significance of Henry and his father's relationship and how Henry attempted to cast a shadow over his father's rein and start a new one with his “warrior “ king charisma."

We had a fantastic time last night watching the production of Death of a Salesman at the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool City Centre🎭✨

We were delighted to take a group of Year 12 and Year 13 students from English Literature, English Language & Literature, English Language and Film to see the production, particularly as Death of a Salesman is a play we study as part of our English Literature course.

Our students were absolutely impeccable throughout the evening and a real pleasure to take out. They were a lovely group to spend the evening with 💜
