This week we have all been learning about looking after our teeth.

To support this learning we have done a variety of lovely activities.
We made big smiles, sorted food groups and thought about if these were good or not so good choices for our teeth.
We learnt interesting facts, used tooth brushes and paste with teeth models for brushing practice and even watched a short video/ song about cleaning.

This morning we welcomed some local residents to help us celebrate Easter by decorating some bonnets.
The children loved having the ladies helping them to select the resources and be creative with their decorations.

We also all enjoyed hot cross buns for snack.

A big Thank you to the lovely Lady that kindly donated all of the Easter decorations, we all really appreciated it and it provided the children with some great fun.

As we are learning about looking after our teeth this week, and making healthy food choices Litcham Childcare provided each child with a hat to decorate as an alternative Easter gift.

Did you know before a child learns to write it is very important that they build up their shoulder, arms, wrists and hand muscles to allow them to develop this skill.

This mornings activity was intentionally constructed to help the children develop these skills.

Watching the children have fun, eagerly wait for their turn and support each other was so lovely.
The children gained confidence in their own abilities, learnt from their own experiences and developed techniques to enable them to move the tyre with better efficiency.

Last week we celebrated our love of books and our favourite characters.
The children came in dressed as a variety of characters and
brought in their favourite books.
We tried to read as many of these as possible during the week and to extend our learning we worked on recall, extending vocabulary, mark making, drawing and writing.

This week we have been learning all about Chinese New Year.
We have learnt how the Chinese celebrate this special time, and some of their customs.
We have tried some Chinese foods, learnt the story of how the Chinese zodiac was formed and watched an animated short clip of this.
Our home corner was set up as a Chinese restaurant along with string noodles, Pom Pom sweet and sour balls and chopsticks.
To finish the week some of the children also had a try at Chinese writing and wrote the animal that represents this year the ‘Horse’

We have a busy week ahead with both Key person and World Book Week. Spaces are still available if you would like to book in for a chat with your child’s key person. Just ask a member of staff.
We will also be celebrating World Book Day all week. Children are invited to come in dressed up and with their favourite books to share. 😊
