Summer might mean a little break from preschool… but it definitely doesn’t mean we stop working behind the scenes! 😂🌈

Today Jess & Steph swapped the preschool for soft play while working on lots of exciting plans for First Steps ready for September! 🥰

We’ve been a little quiet on here over the summer, but there has been LOTS happening in the background — including getting ready for one of our biggest changes yet…

✨ From September, First Steps will be open 47 weeks of the year! ✨

We are so excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to welcome all of our little ones back very soon. 💛🐛🦋

A little summer holiday reminder ☀️

Jess and Steph will still be checking emails and answering the phone throughout the holidays. However, as we’ll also be enjoying some precious time with our own families, responses may take a little longer than usual. Thank you for your understanding 💛

For any families who haven’t yet confirmed their September hours, please get in touch as soon as possible so we can do our best to secure your preferred days. Spaces are filling quickly!

🌈 A little graduation reflection... 🎓

It's taken us over a week to find the right words for this post because saying goodbye to another wonderful group of children is never easy.

Looking back on Graduation Day, our hearts are still so full. We couldn't be prouder of our Class of 2026. Watching each child grow in confidence, independence, kindness and character has been an absolute privilege, and seeing them take their next steps towards school filled us with so much pride (and more than a few tears!).

To all of our amazing families, thank you. Thank you for trusting us with your precious children, for supporting us every step of the way, and for the beautiful cards, thoughtful gifts and kind words at the end of term. Your generosity and appreciation mean the world to us.

We also want to say the biggest thank you to our incredible team. Your passion, patience, care and dedication are what make First Steps Preschool such a special place. The love you pour into every single child each day never goes unnoticed, and we are so proud of everything we've achieved together.

To our wonderful school leavers, thank you for the memories, the laughter, the cuddles and for letting us be part of your journey. We already miss you, but we know you're going to achieve amazing things.

Once a First Steps child, always part of the First Steps family. ❤️

🎓✨ The room is ready... but we're not. 🥺💛

Tomorrow we'll celebrate an incredible group of children as they graduate from First Steps Preschool and begin their next big adventure.

We've decorated the room, laid out the graduation treats, and everything is ready for their special day... but we're definitely not ready for the final cuddles, the last stories, and those final goodbyes. 💔

To our Class of 2026, thank you for letting us be such a special part of your journey. Watching you grow into the amazing little people you are today has been the greatest privilege.

Here's to one last magical morning together before you spread your wings. 🌈🎓

🏃‍♀️⚽ What a way to finish the year! 💚

Today we had our final ABC LTD Sports session of this academic year, and we made it extra special by taking our sports session over to the field! 🌳☀️

The children had an amazing time running around and working together, all while enjoying the extra space and fresh air. We love seeing their confidence, teamwork and physical skills grow week after week.

To top off a fantastic morning, we took a little detour on our walk back to preschool and paid a visit to the duck pond. 🦆 The children loved watching the ducks and taking in the beautiful surroundings – the perfect end to a wonderful adventure!

A huge thank you to Ashley for another brilliant year of fun, active learning. We can't wait to welcome you back next academic year for even more exciting sessions! 💚

☀️💦 Beating the Heat! 💦☀️

Last week's heatwave called for one thing... lots and lots of water play! 🌊

Our little ones had the best time cooling off in the paddling pools, splashing with their friends, playing water games and making some wonderful summer memories together. There were plenty of giggles, happy squeals and very soggy children!

Keeping everyone safe was our top priority. We made sure the children stayed hydrated with regular water breaks, played in shaded areas wherever possible, reapplied sun cream throughout the day and took things at a slower pace to help everyone stay as cool and comfortable as possible.

Thank you to all of our families for helping us prepare the children each day with water bottles, towels, spare clothes and sun cream. Your support really helped us make the most of such hot weather while keeping everyone safe.
