This week, our Mandarin students thanked their tutor, Mr Song, for his engaging and inspiring lessons throughout the academic year. His passion for his native language, combined with a genuine interest in learning more about Ireland and its traditions, created a rich and rewarding learning experience for everyone involved.

Under Mr Song's year long guidance, students not only developed their Mandarin but also gained a deeper appreciation of Chinese culture. At the same time, his curiosity about Irish culture encouraged meaningful cultural exchange, allowing students and tutor alike to learn from one another. We are extremely grateful for the positive impact he has had on our students throughout the year.

🎉 On Friday, we celebrated our fantastic Year 12 students.

It was a brilliant afternoon filled with laughter, music and plenty of great memories. A huge thank you to Sean Magee, who lit up the stage with a set full of absolute bangers, keeping everyone entertained and getting plenty of students up on the dance floor. The craic was mighty from start to finish! 🎶🕺💃

As you begin your study leave, we want to thank each and every one of you for the contribution you have made to our school community over the past five years. We are incredibly proud of the young people you have become and look forward to seeing all that you achieve as you move forward to the next chapter of your journey.

What a fantastic way to wrap up the year! The highly anticipated KS3 Blitz delivered an incredibly tight, hard-fought league competition on Tuesday evening, showcasing some immense talent, grit, and teamwork across all year groups. Every single one of the boys should be immensely proud of themselves for a phenomenal year of sport. Throughout the season, they have played some absolutely fantastic football, consistently stepping up against some of the top schools in school football and representing our school with massive pride and determination.

During the week, our students took part in a meditation session, taking time to pause, reflect and focus on their wellbeing. Meditation can help improve concentration, reduce stress and anxiety, enhance emotional resilience, and promote a calm and positive learning environment. It was wonderful to see our students engaging so thoughtfully and embracing the opportunity to support their mental health and wellbeing.

We had a very busy and enjoyable Wellbeing Wednesday this week!

Our pupils had the opportunity to explore a variety of sensory materials, including flour, rice and sand, as they created their very own stress balls. This hands-on activity encouraged creativity, sensory exploration and conversations about the importance of looking after our wellbeing.

The activity was a huge success and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone involved. Well done to all our pupils for their enthusiasm and fantastic creations!

On Friday, we said farewell to our wonderful Year 14 students as they complete their journey with us after seven memorable years.

From your first days walking through our doors as young Year 8 pupils to the confident, capable young adults you are today, it has been a privilege to watch you grow, learn, achieve and become the people you are now.

We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. Your hard work, resilience, friendships, talents and contributions have helped shape our school community, and your legacy will remain long after you leave.

As you take your next steps into university, apprenticeships, employment or whatever exciting path lies ahead, we have every confidence that you will achieve great things. Embrace every opportunity, believe in yourselves and never be afraid to chase your dreams.

While your time as students may be ending, you will always be part of the Saint Kevin's family. Remember that our doors are always open, and we would love to hear about your future successes and adventures.

🌱🌼 This week our KS3 students have been busy in the greenhouse alongside Heidi and Angela, planting flowers and shrubs to help make the front of the school look beautiful ahead of our Year 12 and Year 14 leaving celebrations. 💙

Students have also been growing sunflowers and sweet peas from seeds, showing great care, patience and enthusiasm throughout the project. 🌻🌸

Gardening is a fantastic way to support wellbeing as it combines movement, time in nature, creativity and a real sense of achievement from all of their hard work. It has been wonderful to see the students taking such pride in helping to brighten up our school environment. 👏
