Fermanagh Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, affiliated to Rigan Machado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association, Europe, is the BJJ section of Fermanagh Ju Jitsu. We are an official RAPID Academy under Professor Antonio La Salandra who is the head of the Rigan Machado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association in Europe. Our goal is simply to learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and help others do the same. Our classes are open to everyone regardless of age, gender, experience, religion, ability or background. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a combat sport and self defence system based on grappling which uses throws, joint manipulation, chokes, leverage and pressure to overcome an opponent or attacker. As well as self defence and martial skills it is an excellent activity for fitness, conditioning, confidence, mental health and resilience.

That was some warm work last night at Fermanagh BJJ.
The MMA gloves came out in the adult gi class. You can call it gi MMA or adding self defence to gi bjj. Whatever it was, it was good! Things have to change and become simpler when striking is involved
Kids did some really good specific positional drills and sparring. Great work from everyone. More of the same on Thursday. ...

Parents and Kids Week!
Thanks to all the Mums and Dad's who came along to our Parents and Kids classes this week.
The sessions were all about having fun with the kids, seeing what is involved in BJJ and for the parents to learn a few things they can do at home to help their child's development in the class.
The kids absolutely loved having their parents there and getting the opportunity to train with them. ...

Thanks for the review Michelle. I taught a self defence workshop yesterday evening in Pettigo for Three Villages One Community.
Great bunch of people, all worked hard, put in plenty of effort and asked some good questions during the session.
I have another 3 hour Women's self defence workshop coming up in November in Lisnaskea which can be booked at this link:

At Fermanagh Ju Jitsu we have Japanese/traditional Ju Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Self Defence. There is a crossover between these three systems but they are also very different in many ways and it's important to know how they can be used together and how they vary.

In our self defence workshops simplicity, effectiveness and the right mindset are emphasized so people leave the session with some simple tools they can use in a variety of circumstances. ...

A few more well deserved stripes given out yesterday evening. Congratulations to Peter, Cameron and Colin (Colin also really enjoyed his birthday shark tank!). Lots of hard work and the right attitude.
Well done also to our August student of the Month Rory Wilson who has been consistently working hard, learning his techniques and applying them when rolling.
Keep up the good work everyone. ...
