Over the past term, KS1 have been learning all about the famous chef Heston Blumenthal. They loved hearing all about his unusual dishes that he has created, such as menus made out of edible paper, meat fruit and bacon and egg icecream. They've had a go at designing their own unsual dishes and were all full of interesting ideas! Today, they were given a task by Heston himself to have a go at creating a healthy snack for the children's menu. The key was to make it interesting. They were given a variety of fruit and vegetables and learnt how to cut and prepare their own kebabs carefully. They even got to tuck into them at the end!

What an amazing couple of weeks we've had in the Learning Hub! We have worked hard on our letter formations and our maths skills. Let's not forget we worked as a team to move into our new classroom and we got to enjoy the weather! (Even the adults too!)

Lastly, we are super proud of our children who walked to the church for our Easter Service, they enjoyed listening to the service and singing to the songs. Well Done Learning Hub, you superstars! 🌟

On Thursday, Pioneers class visited the church and learned all about the Easter story. We took part in different moments from the story, starting with Palm Sunday, where we pretended to be part of the crowd, cheering and following Jesus. We then experienced the Last Supper, where we shared bread and drank juice, just like the disciples did. We watched as Jesus washed his feet, helping us understand kindness and humility, and we learned the meaning behind each part of the story. We also saw the moment when Jesus was taken away by guards after Judas betrayed him, which helped us think about friendship and trust. We then visited Jesus’ tomb and saw that the angel was there, but Jesus was gone. We celebrated that Jesus is alive, which is why Christians celebrate Easter Sunday. We also learned about the meaning of the Easter egg, which represents the tomb being opened. Finally, we learned about the cross and what each part represents. We reflected on our feelings by writing down things that make us sad on post-it notes and placing them under the cross. It was a thoughtful and meaningful way to understand the Easter story.

It was an engaging and informative session that inspired great questions and thoughtful discussion. Thank you to the RNLI team for visiting us and sharing such important knowledge! 🌊

Voyagers have been buzzing with excitement as they continued their Science Week by exploring the weird and wonderful world of Oobleck! 🀩

Is it a liquid? Is it a solid? The children loved investigating this mysterious mixture, making and exploring their own Oobleck independently. There were plenty of curious questions, thoughtful observations and lots of hands-on experimenting as the class tested how it behaved.

It was fantastic to see the children working like real scientists β€” predicting, exploring and discovering together. We definitely have some budding scientists in Voyagers! πŸ§ͺ✨
