WOUND PACKING: IT’S NOT PRETTY… BUT IT SAVES LIVES.

This is what realistic catastrophic bleed training looks like.

Blood everywhere.
Hands covered.
Stress levels high.
No perfect conditions.

In a real emergency, severe haemorrhage can kill within minutes. Wound packing is one of the most important life-saving interventions for junctional wounds where a tourniquet cannot be applied, such as the groin, armpit, or certain neck injuries (when appropriate and with the correct technique).

The key is simple:
🩸 Find the source of the bleeding.
🩸 Pack the wound firmly, layer by layer.
🩸 Apply direct pressure.
🩸 Don’t stop until the bleeding is controlled.

This isn’t a skill you want to learn for the first time when someone’s life depends on you.

Train realistically.
Train under pressure.
Train until your hands know what to do before your brain catches up.

Because when seconds count, confidence comes from competence.

Another fantastic weekend supporting the Bristol Open BJJ as C360 Group Ltd provided the event medical cover.

With hundreds of competitors giving everything on the mats, it’s our job to ensure that if something does go wrong, professional medical care is there immediately. Thankfully, the event ran incredibly smoothly, with only a small number of minor incidents requiring our attention a testament to the excellent organisation, the professionalism of the athletes, coaches, and officials, and the positive atmosphere throughout the competition.

A big thank you to my good friend and fellow event medic Craig, whose professionalism, teamwork, and support helped make the day a success. It’s always a pleasure working alongside people you trust.

Congratulations to everyone who competed, medalled, coached, officiated, and supported the event. We look forward to doing it all again soon.

Last night C360 Group Ltd provided event medical cover for Secret Boxing: Wild West Showdown at Sunrise in Penzance, Cornwall.

From explosive stoppages to technical wars, the card showcased serious talent from both male and female fighters.

We managed a handful of routine fight injuries nosebleeds, cuts, and a couple of black eyes and one fighter who rolled his ankle, requiring a SAM splint to stabilise and get him safely off the canvas.

This is what we do: professionally trained event medical support so promoters, fighters, and fans can focus on the fight, knowing the medical side is locked in.

🩸 WOUND PACKING 🩸

One of the most critical skills in trauma medicine…
and one of the most misunderstood.

Too many people think wound packing means stuffing gauze into a hole.

It doesn’t.

The objective is simple:
⚠️ Find the bleed
⚠️ Apply aggressive direct pressure
⚠️ Create enough compression to stop catastrophic haemorrhage

A badly packed wound can still bleed out.

A correctly packed wound can be the difference between life and death before emergency services even arrive.
