Dobwalls Community Primary School is looking for two Teaching Assistants to join the team, starting as soon as possible.

✨ Post 1: 19.15 hours per week – supporting KS1/EYFS, including 1:1 support and small group work.
✨ Post 2: 30 hours per week – initially supporting Year 6 class.

We’re looking for enthusiastic, flexible and dedicated individuals who can build positive relationships with children and work as part of a supportive team. Experience of working with additional needs is desirable.

📅 Fixed term until 23 July 2027
📍 Dobwalls Community Primary
💷 Grade D – £24,796 per annum pro rata (pay award pending)

School is out for summer!

The Screech Owl Sanctuary - our children's chosen charity for the year. Over the year, we have raised a superb £1,451! Wow, thank you so much to everyone for the support. Today, we welcomed Karen with owl Hannah into school to find out the total! Well done School Council - great work. I wonder who they will choose for the charity next year!

Silver Rights Respecting Award!
We’re delighted to share that Dobwalls has been awarded Silver Rights Respecting School status, following an accreditation visit from Martin Russell of UNICEF. The Rights Respecting Schools Award puts children’s rights at the heart of school life, helping to create safe, inspiring places to learn where children are respected, their talents nurtured, and they’re supported to thrive. Using the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child as its guide, the Award is built on principles of equality, dignity, respect, non-discrimination and participation. Achieving Silver status reflects how these values are embedded in daily life at Dobwalls, giving our children the best chance to lead happy, healthy lives and grow into responsible, active citizens.

Today, Dobwalls Rock Stars were in action once again! The bravery and courage displayed by all children was fantastic to see. They all used their SECRET skills of handle emotion, get involved and go for it finish it brilliantly! The really did believe in themselves as they took to the stage. Big thank you to Band Leader Callum for his support and dedication to one and all. Thank you to all the parents/carers who came along to enjoy!
Bring on the next concert in December!

Cinderella Rockerfella has been absolutely amazing today! Year 6 - just wow! A massive well done to each and everyone of you. As it says in the final song - when you believe, anything is possible - you all definitely did that! Thank you to everyone who came along and supported them all, we hope you enjoyed!

Thank you to Reverend Mark, Nicky and the members of Dobwalls United Church who once again made us feel so welcome today. We loved singing together in the Church and Rev Mark helped us to reflect upon the change coming up for everyone. Thank you!

Lerryn Class had a wonderful time at RNLI Looe on Thursday. They travelled by train from Liskeard to Looe and learned all about the important work of the RNLI and how they help keep people safe at sea. We even dipped our toes in the sea before finishing our fantastic day with a delicious ice cream!
