📊🥔 From Crisp Tasting to Digital Data! 💻

As part of our P6 WAU Human Body topic, pupils put their sense of taste to the test with a crisp taste-testing investigation. 👅

We then transformed our results into digital graphs and pictograms using Just2easy. Pupils developed their ICT and Numeracy skills by adding images and text, editing axes and presenting their data clearly and creatively.

A fantastic example of cross-curricular learning, bringing together WAU, Numeracy and ICT in one fun learning experience! 👏💻📊

🗳️ Democracy in Action at Central!
Today, our P4–P7 pupils had the exciting opportunity to vote for and elect their peers as our new School Council representatives! 🌟
It was a fantastic experience for all our pupils as they visited our very own polling station, cast their votes and posted their ballot papers into the ballot box. ✅
A special well done to P7, who did a brilliant job officiating the polling station and took their important roles very seriously! 👏
A huge thank you to Mr. Brown and P7 for organising such a fantastic and memorable learning experience. 💙

🌿🍃 Outdoor Learning Week: Working Together for Our Environment! 🍃🌿

This week, four local schools came together to celebrate Outdoor Learning Week. It has been fantastic to see pupils learning beyond the classroom, exploring the natural world, and developing a greater understanding of how we can all help to protect our environment. From outdoor investigations and nature-based activities to teamwork and problem-solving challenges, children had the opportunity to learn, collaborate and connect with their local surroundings.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the week such a success. It has been especially wonderful to see the level of community involvement, with schools, families and local groups working together to support our young people and promote positive environmental action.

🌿🍃 Outdoor Learning Week is Coming to Lisburn Central Primary School! 🍃🌿

Next week, our pupils will be taking their learning beyond the classroom walls as we celebrate Outdoor Learning Week. Throughout the week, classes will enjoy a range of exciting outdoor lessons and activities designed to encourage exploration, creativity, teamwork and learning in the natural environment. 🌳☀️

We are also looking forward to welcoming parents into school on Wednesday to participate in our Smiles for Miles Challenge. 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️😊 check SchoolJotter3 for times.

🍂 Parent Information Reminder 🍂
As we move into the autumn and winter months, we would like to share this helpful guidance from the Public Health Agency on common childhood illnesses and when children should remain off school.

The chart outlines recommended exclusion periods for a range of illnesses, helping parents decide when it is appropriate for their child to return to school.

✅ Children should attend school whenever they are well enough to do so.
✅ Following the recommended guidance helps reduce the spread of infection within our school community.
✅ If your child is absent due to illness, please notify the school office as soon as possible.

🍂🧥 Ready for the Change in Weather! 🧥🍂

As the autumn season begins to arrive, please bring a coat etc due to the cooler, wetter weather. 🌦️

We have been reminding children about the importance of wearing a coat each day so they stay warm, dry and comfortable during outdoor learning, break times and home time.

✅ Please ensure all coats are clearly labelled with your child's name. This makes it much easier to return lost items to their owners.
