We are proud to once again celebrate outstanding A-Level success at Lisnagarvey High School, continuing a long-standing tradition of academic excellence. With 𝟴𝟱% 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟯 𝗔-𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗔–𝗖, our results place us as the second top-performing post-primary school in Lisburn and highlight the strength of our school community.

Even more impressively, the Belfast Telegraph recognised Lisnagarvey High School as the 𝟯𝗿𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝗻-𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔-𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗜𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱. This achievement reflects not only this year’s success but also a remarkable pattern of progress. For the last 12 years, Lisnagarvey High School has been placed in the upper quartile for GCSE performance, and in the last 5 years, we have regularly been in the top 5% of performing non-selective schools in Northern Ireland for GCSE performance. In addition, for the past 5 years, our A-Level results have continued to improve, demonstrating sustained excellence and a commitment to high standards year after year.

We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to our students, whose dedication and hard work have delivered such excellent results. Equally, we want to recognise the exceptional effort of our staff, whose unwavering support, expertise, and care help shape every student’s journey. From supporting students academically to guiding them personally, every member of our staff plays an essential role in helping young people grow into confident, successful young people, who are ready for the future.

Our Governors shared their immense pride in this achievement, describing it as “superb, sustained success” and recognising that “all staff deserve immense credit.” There is a real sense of pride across our school, with many describing themselves as “bursting with pride” at what has been achieved together.

These results belong to our entire school community. Thank you to every member of staff for your continued hard work and dedication, and well done to our students for setting such a high standard.

With Whole School Exam Week next week from 18th – 22nd May, the normal school timetable is suspended and Year 12 pupils are only expected in for GCSE & equivalency exams.

Viral Trend Causing Severe Burns To Children

Children and young people are microwaving squishy silicone toys after seeing online videos claiming this makes the toys softer and more pliable. When the toy is squeezed afterwards, it bursts and sprays boiling material, which reportedly has left children’s hands and faces seriously burned. This trend has seriously injured children in the UK and US, most recently in May 2026 in Bristol, UK.

We ask that parents, school staff and professionals avoid searching for this challenge directly on platforms as each search feeds the algorithm and increases the content's reach, making the videos more visible to users.
