Sports Day and Fun Afternoon 2026
What a wonderful day at Trinity Playing Fields! Pupils from P1โP7 took part in a fantastic mix of races and activities, with the whole school coming together to celebrate Sports Day. It was a lovely opportunity for families to cheer on their house teams, socialise, and help raise funds for the school. As usual the parents races were very competitive ๐ and new for this year, the staff turned their hand to tug of war (with a little help from some of our parents!) ๐คฃ
There was something for everyone to enjoy, including bouncy castles, a BBQ, pizza Pizza Crew - Lisburn , hook-a-duck, a toy sale, and face painting, to name just a few of the attractions.
A huge thank you to the PTA for organising such a fun-filled afternoon, and to all the families who came along to support and encourage the children throughout the day. Also to Trinity Presbyterian Church Boardmills for granting permission to use the playing fields and supporting us in this event.
Sports Day points will be added to the house totals on Monday โ could this change the current leaderboard?

'A Million Dreams' come true for the children of Carr Primary School.
It was an honour to be invited to Royal Hillsborough today to welcome Her Majesty The Queen to Northern Ireland.
Alongside our friends from Parkview Special School, we had the very special opportunity to sing and sign using Makaton 'A Million Dreams' for Queen Camilla. We were delighted when Her Majesty stopped to listen, exchanged a few words with us, and shook hands with pupils from both schools. The Queen even commented on how much she enjoyed our choice of song.
Greta Murray had the honour of presenting a bouquet of flowers to Queen Camilla.
We are thrilled that this is now the second time our pupils have had the opportunity to meet members of the Royal Family. In 2022, we were fortunate enough to provide our pupils with the chance to meet both The King and Queen.
A very special word of thanks must go to Alderman Amanda Grehan who made today possible. The support she has shown our school throughout her term of office has been greatly appreciated by everyone at Carr Primary School.
Today is a day we will never forget. Providing our children with moments and memories like this is one of the greatest privileges for our staff.
For a small school we certainly achieve BIG things.๐
What a day!

Football Festival โฝ๏ธ
Carr Primary School were delighted to be invited to the Ballynahinch Football Festival. We took two teams to Assumption Grammar School, we competed in five matches throughout the day.
Both teams showed great skill, determination and teamwork, but most importantly demonstrated excellent sportsmanship and represented our school positively at all times.
We hope that taking part in tournaments such as this helps to build our pupilsโ confidence and strengthen their ability to work together as a team.
We are so proud of all you all and the fantastic attitude you showed throughout the festival.
A huge thank you to Ellie - Mea and Maddie our coaches who gave up their time to accompany us today. Also to all the organisers of the football Festival.

First week of ๐โโ๏ธ Running Club ๐โโ๏ธ at Lough Moss. The weather was kind to us as we played some warm up games before beginning our first run. All children and staff completed today's run - 2.2K
We all agreed that although we were tired we felt much better after some exercise and fresh air.
