Annual School Trip to Newcastle & Cocos ☀️🎉
One of our favourite school traditions is our annual trip to Newcastle and Cocos — a day that our children look forward to every year!
We love having the opportunity to take our entire school out together and create special memories as a community. After lots of fun and play in the park, everyone was glad to enjoy a break from the sunshine at Cocos.
As always, the team at Cocos looked after us so well, and a fantastic time was had by all.
One more day until Summer Holidays 2026!!

💚💚💚 Rowan Win The House Cup 💚💚💚

After a hard-fought battle, with points being earned right up to the very last minute, Rowan House has emerged victorious and claimed this year's House Cup.
The competition was fierce throughout the year, and every point counted. As a reward for their achievement, Rowan pupils will enjoy a special House Trip. The coveted green ribbon will also be proudly displayed on the House Cup until next year's competition.
Congratulations to everyone in Rowan House on a fantastic achievement, and well done to all houses for their effort, commitment, and house spirit throughout the year. 🎉💚

In a first for Carr PS, we took some of our pupils from Running Club to take part in the Lisburn Fun Run!
A fantastic evening was had by all. We were so impressed by everyone's determination, enthusiasm, and encouragement towards one another throughout the event.
We are incredibly proud of all the children who took part and represented our school so well. We may just have to make this an annual event!

We are delighted to announce that our school has been awarded the internationally recognised Eco-Schools Green Flag Award!

This fantastic achievement reflects the commitment, enthusiasm and hard work of our entire school community. We are incredibly proud of our pupils, whose active participation and leadership through our Eco Council have played a vital role in securing this prestigious award. We would also like to thank all staff for their dedication and support in helping us achieve our sustainability goals.

Throughout the year, our Eco Council has organised and led a range of initiatives aimed at improving sustainability, encouraging biodiversity, promoting healthy lifestyles and increasing recycling across the school.

Did you know that we are also an Eco-Schools Ambassador School? This means our school is recognised for exemplary practice and supports the wider Eco-Schools programme by providing training opportunities and sharing expertise with other schools and organisations.

In addition, Carr Primary is proud to hold Forest School status, with trained and qualified staff delivering high-quality outdoor learning experiences that help our children develop confidence, resilience and a deeper connection with the natural world.
There is so much to celebrate, and we couldn't be prouder of everything our pupils and staff have achieved together. 🌱💚

And that's a wrap on Football Club for this year! ⚽
A huge thank you to our coaches and to Trinity Boardmills for making our training sessions possible.
Throughout the season, we came together as a fantastic team, demonstrating skill, determination, teamwork, and excellent sportsmanship. We were especially proud to see our more experienced players encouraging and supporting the younger pupils, helping them learn the rules of the game and sharing valuable tips and techniques.
What an amazing first season for our Football Club! We are incredibly proud of everything the team has achieved and look forward to seeing it continue to grow, develop, and build on this success in the years ahead.
Well done to all our players for their hard work, commitment, and enthusiasm throughout the season. ⚽🏆👏

Made To Lead Programme at Carr.
Giving pupils the opportunity to plan, develop and deliver lessons which they are interested in to their peers.

Our pupils enjoyed an incredible science lesson led by Professor Leighfield, who introduced the children to chemical and physical reactions through a series of exciting hands-on experiments. The class investigated "Pepper Expelliarmus" and the "No-Breath Balloon Inflation" before witnessing a spectacular "Minty Coke Volcano" grand finale. The children thoroughly enjoyed watching the science come to life, and we certainly have some budding scientists in our making. A huge thank you to Professor Leighfield for such an inspiring session!
