We regret to inform parents and carers of our incoming Year 8 pupils that this afternoon's Induction Event has been postponed due to the current situation in the local community and the potential for significant travel disruption.

We were very much looking forward to welcoming our new pupils and their families; however, the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved must come first.

We will be in touch shortly with updated arrangements and look forward to welcoming you to the school at a later date.

Thank you for your understanding.

Kind regards,

Mrs J. Reid

Our Year 11 Food and Nutrition students recently enjoyed a fantastic visit to Drayne’s Farm in Lisburn, where they gained valuable insight into food production from farm to fridge and freezer.

During the visit, students learned how ice cream is made, explored the factory equipment used in production, discovered how cattle are cared for, and gained an understanding of the day-to-day running of a working farm. They also heard the inspiring story of how Drayne’s Farm began, how the business has grown over the years, and the significant costs and commitment involved in maintaining a successful farm.

As a family-run business, there is a genuine warmth and passion at the heart of Drayne’s Farm that was evident throughout the day. Our students were made to feel incredibly welcome by Michael, Nikki and Chris, whose enthusiasm, knowledge and hospitality helped make the experience both educational and enjoyable.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone at Drayne’s Farm for sharing their time, expertise and story with us. It was a memorable visit that brought classroom learning to life and provided our students with a greater appreciation of the journey our food takes from farm to table.

Thank you to Michael, Nikki and Chris for such a warm welcome and a truly memorable experience.
