Friday Thoughts…

I spent a lot of years chasing the next big thing to realise something very important!

The results I want usually come when I stop looking for something bigger & better & start getting ruthless with the basics.

The boring stuff works.

It just doesn’t give you the same buzz as trying something new.

Back in March before my brother’s anniversary, I pulled back from social media quite a lot.

What was meant to be a one-week detox in the French Alps turned into nearly three months, & the apps are still deleted from my phone.

I’d let it become toxic. Too much time & energy on likes, engagement, what would do well, who would support & whether people approved.

❌I was attaching my self-worth to a fu***ng app 😅

It’s been a heavy few months at times, but also some pretty fu***ng epic moments & experiences that I’m grateful for.

One thing I’ve realised ⬇️

F**k the pressure.

F**k feeling like I have to post every day, or I fail.

F**k perfection.

F**k trying to keep up with everyone else.

F**k Comparison.

Social media can educate, inspire & help people, but when we buy into the bu****it that comes with it, that’s when the problem starts.

The fake perfection.The fake success.The fake people.

From now on, I’ll post when what I’m proud of, things I’ve learnt, things that might help or inspire someone else.

If people benefit from it = win 🙌

If they don’t want to see it… UNFOLLOW exists for a reason 💁‍♀️

Life gets a lot easier when you stop worrying about who’s judging you & put your energy into the people who show up for you when you can’t fully show up for yourself 🖤

Honestly, I’m excited for the zero f***s era!

I had the best freaking day!

Have I mentioned I seem to love competing now? From the girl who hated exercise & skipped PE in school 😅

I generally do these things alone, so having the hubby there to watch, support and enjoy it with me made it even more special ❤️

Goal achieved ✔️

Great vibes, awesome people, numbers I’m really proud of, and the best time doing it.

I got chatting to a few ppl throughout the event. We ended up supporting and encouraging each other through the events, which made the day even better.

Pretty proud of myself for this one.

More than the result, I’m proud to have built a base of strength & fitness that allows me to say yes to opportunities like this and enjoy every second of them.

Shout out to these gals who all crushed personal goals in their recent 10Ks over the last couple of weekends.

They put the work in beforehand, overcame many challenges in the lead up, showed up ready to get stuck in & crushed it as always👏

Good vibes, tough moments, strong finishes & most importantly proud moments 💪🏻

This isn’t even where I started. It’s isn’t 2 years yet. Easy to miss the progress when you’re living it day to day.

The photo on the left, my goal felt massive.

I wanted to be fit enough to run the 5K with the Unbreakable team in Hillsborough in July 2024, mentally & physically strong enough to go back for anyone struggling & help get them across the line.

I got the chance to do that & it’s still one of the most rewarding experiences.

The photo on the right? Confidence.

Wearing something I never imagined I’d feel comfortable training in. Not chasing perfection, just living life… croissants, Guinness, weekends away, Kettlebell comps, Extreme obstacle challenges; half marathons; Hyroxs; completed mostly every month 😅

Consistency really does compound. Even when you can’t see it at the time, the work is still working quietly in the background.

Sometimes the biggest progress is the journey to becoming the person you once hoped you could be.
