Records tumble once more as we applaud our amazing students' GCSE achievements!

From close to 90% of students achieving grade 4 or above in English and maths at Bohunt School - Liphook to record-breaking results at Bohunt Farnborough and Priory School Official we have so much to celebrate.

We’re delighted to share that students across Bohunt Education Trust have achieved truly outstanding A Level and vocational results this summer.

Our Year 13 students have demonstrated remarkable resilience, ambition and determination. Their achievements reflect not only their hard work, but the dedication of our staff and the unwavering support of families across every BET school.

As another fantastic school year comes to a close, we would like to thank all our students, staff, parents, carers, governors and wider communities for their support throughout the year.

Across our family of schools we have celebrated so many achievements, in the classroom, on the sports field, on stage and in our local communities, and we are incredibly proud of everything our students have accomplished.

We wish everyone a happy, restful and well-deserved summer break, and we look forward to welcoming our students back in September for another exciting year ahead.

BET Book Award 2026 Author Visit
On Monday 13 July, Bohunt Horsham was delighted to welcome Brogen Murphy, author of Wildlands and winner of the 2026 BET Book Award, as voted for by our Year 7 judging panels.

After reading five shortlisted books throughout the Spring term and casting their votes in April, our Year 7 judges were thrilled to meet the winning author. Brogen captivated students with an engaging presentation about their passion for rewilding, and gave an inspiring Q&A, encouraging plenty of audience participation. Students also enjoyed having their books signed and meeting fellow judges from The Costello School, Bohunt Farnborough, Bohunt School - Liphook, Priory School Official, Steyning Grammar School Day and Boarding, The Petersfield School, and Bohunt School Worthing.

A huge thank you to Brogen for such a memorable visit, and to Steyning Bookshop for hosting a pop-up bookshop. The visit was a wonderful celebration of 'Wildlands', storytelling, creativity and reading.

Huge congratulations to Bohunt Education Trust Chair, Alistair Halliday, on being awarded an OBE in the King's Birthday Honours for services to Service Personnel, Veterans and their Families.

Speaking to Shine Radio, Alistair described the honour as a surprise and a tribute to the colleagues and volunteers he's worked alongside over the years. He also reflected on the importance of giving back through his role with Bohunt Education Trust.

As temperatures have soared this week, schools across BET have been finding creative ways to help keep staff and students cool while making the most of the sunshine.

From water refill stations and refreshing ice lollies to water hose fun, shaded outdoor spaces and plenty of hydration reminders, our schools have been working hard to ensure everyone stays safe and comfortable during the heatwave.

Students across the Trust have coped brilliantly with the warmer weather, showing resilience and continuing to engage positively with learning while looking out for one another. A huge thank you to our brilliant staff for going the extra mile to help everyone enjoy the warmer weather responsibly.

We welcomed BBC South Today to Bohunt School and Bohunt Sixth Form to film a feature on exam reform speaking with students about their experiences of GCSEs and A Levels, as well as hearing from Phil Avery, Director of Education at BET.

He shared the view that England’s current examination system, particularly GCSEs and A levels, is too narrow, overly high stakes and insufficiently aligned with the skills young people need for the future.

Millie, an A level student at Bohunt Sixth Form, reflected on being given the chance to share her perspective:
“I found having my opinion heard very refreshing, as it feels like a lot of decisions about young people - particularly in education - are being made without our input. It was really lovely to feel heard and listened to.”

The feature is planned to air this week — we’ll share the date once it’s confirmed.
